A similiar question was asked in the King Ranch forums, about swapping a 2006's mirrors for a 2007, to have the painted skull caps as well as the power folding function, here's what RockPick had to say:
"On the mirrors, I recall one person doing this -- to my recollection he said that the wiring was very tricky (Ford moved some pins around on the connectors) and, as such, it was tough. I don't think it was as simple as just getting the mirror part itself."
