'07 or wait for '08

I'm starting to look at getting a new truck and am interested in a KR, EB or Lariat. Currently I have an '04 Lightning but need something bigger.
I'm wondering if anyone has any insight on what the new '08 F150 will be like.
Is it the same model with a few minor updates or are they upgrading the total vehicle?

Thanks for any help with this!

Bill

I doubt the '08's will be any different. They made quite a few changes for '07, so they will probbaly wait till the '09s to update when the redesign happens.

The 07's are nice right now due to the good financing options, where as the 08's won't have much when they first come out. Plus you'll proly end up waiting till october to see the 08 that you like hit the lot.

I doubt you will see any changes at all. Maybe a color or 2, but that is about it. I hear 2009 or 2010 for the next revision or at least a refresh on what they have now

Thanks guys.
That sure is a pretty KR you have. Is it as hard as black to keep clean?
My Lightning is black and I love it but it's getting to be to much upkeep for my liking at this point.
There is a green KR that I looked at the other day that was really nice but I spend a bunch of time at the Colorado River and it's really dusty/gritty quite often.

2009 gets the 6-speed auto. Nothing big for 2008. If you nca find a 2007 vehicle you like, you'll get a better deal than in the fall on a 2008 model.

Thanks. The green is fairly dark in cloudy / shadow conditions, but when it is in the bright sunlight it looks like a completely different truck. The forest green is a metallic, so there is quite a bit of sparkle / color to it. It does show the dirt, but I would NOT say it is as bad as black. I had a black F-150 once and I said I'd never do that again. Sweet looking, but a PITA.

I'd take advantage of the 0% financing for 60 months while you can. It definitely tames the monthly payments of the higher end F-150's.

I doubt there will be much difference between the '07 & '08. The '07 model year seems to have quite a few cosmetic and convenience updates compared to the '05 I had. My '07 is definitely tuned a bit differently than any other F-150 I've owned. The engine is very responsive, and the truck just wants to leap off of the line, shifting through 1st and 2nd smoothly & quickly (Very un-F-150 like performance)

Well, I can tell you that I am very happy with my '07 and as others have said I doubt that there will be any big changes for '08...

Thanks for all of your help.
I have access to the Ford partners X-plan so can save about $3,000 off MSRP plus either the 0% financing or $3,000 rebate.
The KR I'm currently eyeballing is a dark cpper clearcoat with pueblo gold accent. It only has the 18" rims on it and seems to show more wheel well than I'm used to.
There is an upgrade for the 20" at $895 but it will likely be more if the truck doesn't come with the 20". Do any of you have thoughts on the 20's vs the 18's and what are some good tires on the 4x2? I've been running Toyo Proxes on the Lightning and they seem to be a good all around tire for what I used it for. I mostly drive the highways and only tow a 6,000# boat once in awhile.

Thanks again!

Bill

I am looking at the 09 model F-150 which is going to be a total new design with more power, mileage, and the word is will have an available diesel. The net at pickuptruck.com: Future Truck Ford F-150 has enough information to make you wait for this exciting model. It even has a good artist rendition.

Might have to wait for the 2010 model to make sure all of the worms are worked out of the system.

Thanks Mert-
I went to the site and did a search but didn't come up with anything.
How long ago did they post this article?

Thanks,
Bill

I don't think that the '09 will be a total new design. Instead it is likely to be refreshed with updated front and rear ends, more options, new engine choices, and an updated interior. The current model is only in its 4th year, so the platform still has plenty of life left in it. It would not be financially feasible for Ford to completely redesign the truck as they did in '04...
