LOL, we probably need to state what the truck costs, not counting trade ins and such. For instance, mine stickered for just over 40k, got in for invioce which was just over 36k. Subtract the 3 grand in rebates right now and you get a 40k truck for 33k ish. It's impossible to get a NEW, 40 thousand dollar truck for much less than that. Even Xplan isn't too different. I traded in a truck worth 15k so I am not stating that I paid 18k for my Supercrew.

Amen, some people post their price without telling they traded in another car.

Sorry, I dont mean to be a jerk, I just dont believe some of the prices. How is it possible to get vehicles for 7-8 thousand under invoice?? Unless there is something wrong with them, a strange color, or something that they would be held over and extra year on the lot. Maybe that explains it.... There probably haven't been 2006 vehicles on the lots around here for months.

I've never really put much credence in the "invoice" cost. Those numbers are widely available and probably reflect what the dealer wants to get for the car inorder to make a decent profit. Lets face it, nobody is going to pay over invoice on a car unless it's in high demand (such as the new 'stangs when they came out).
As far as some of the cars having problems or being less desirable, the latter is probably true. The color of my F-150 was not my first (or second, or third) choice. I'm not a big fan of red, but I was willing to go with the Dark Red (Aggie Maroon...don't get me started) because of the deal. But I doubt any dealership would willingly sell a car with a serious problem. Your just going to bring it back and complain, they'll have to fix it, and put their customer service rating with Ford in jeopardy. I'm not real sure what incentive the dealership gets from for Ford Blue Oval status but I know the sales manager and the service manager take that rating VERY seriously. I've had my local service guy give me lots of free oil changes, rotations and other normal services free if I promised to give them an excellent rating on the Ford surveys. Although, I should add that my local dealership closed up shop last month
You weren't being a jerk...there's nothing wrong with a little doubt and cynicism.

Exactly what I posted when this thread started, but you see how well people listened. I still think I got one of the better deals on a remaining 06 when I bought...
"Paid $26,500 before TT&L on Jan 1st. 2007. I think my truck stickered for just under $39,000" NO TRADE IN OR MONEY DOWN

Bought mine in Feb 2006. Sticker price was $34,572.45, I got $3000 in rebates and $1662.54 for my trade-in (it wasn't paid off and was only 2 years old and I owed alot still) and I put 0 down so I ended up financing $29,909.91.
I learn a little bit more every year so when we go to buy my wife's new car after we return from Hawaii in a couple of years I should be an old pro at this car buying stuff.

Bought in Feb: 07 DSG, XLT, 5.4FFV, auto trans, 4X4, power seat, power pedals, back up sensors, tow package, electric rear slider, tint, Sirius satellite for 6 months, 3.73 limited slip, 4" tube running boards OTD $31,233 sticker was $38K & change. Got 3k off for paying cash plus had Xplan aswell. So I guess I paid around 28K the dealer still probably laughed all the way to the bank

I paid with TTL, and interest I paid 34K, The sticker price was 34.6K however I walked out paying that exact amount thanks to a couple of rebates and low interest rate thing. I bought mine brand new '06 F-150 Supercrew 4.6L 5.5' bed, runnin boards, painted rims, 6 disk cd changer, cloth seats, tow package, 4x4. Great truck but I have always wondered if I paid too much.
