The 6.5 box came out the end of Jan 06. I had a hard time finding one so I had to order one. I am glad they came out with it because I really wanted the supercrew but did not want the 5.5 box. I have a toolbox in the back and can still load the quad in the back! I did not know that the larger tank was an option....the dealer just added it...nice of them!! I from Alberta and when gas was expensive so was the fill, usually around $130.00/fill!! Love the 6.5 box and the truck!

They came out with the 6.5 in 06. In canada only in the second half of 06. I bought a 06 screw with a 5.5 because the dealler never offered it and i didn't know it existed. I woulda got the 6.5, could use the extra foot, makes a difference. Would not change the look much

Actually you are right and wrong

It's a $300 difference MSRP for 2007. I checked. I went by what the dealer droid told me as I was writing him the check. No matter I was never getting another 5.5 footer again. I paid a-plan so I never really look at the sticker anyhow. I got the bigger fuel tank as well....37 gallon I believe. Whatever it's a lot larger than my 2002.

@ www.forddirect.com for 2007 models, XLT and FX4 is a $300 price difference, and Lariat & KR it is only $230 extra for the 6.5' bed over 5.5'.
