I definitely don't have any buyer's remorse when it comes to my '05 FX4. The FX4 is definitely the best looking model of the '05 line-up, and it gave you the option of a modest XLT style cloth interior all the way to an all leather cow interior with 95% of the gadgets offered in a Lariat. I've been getting 15 MPG in mixed driving, and the oil stays good-n-clean between 5K mile changes. Most guys who upgrade from a Ranger immediately notice how roomy and quiet the interior is. Not to mention the huge increase in power.

If I were to whine about anything, it would be the occasional head liner rattle when temperatures get below 40 degrees (someday they'll figure out what is actually rattling). The stock tires will probably last me 75K miles. They're OK off-road for what I do, but they suck in heavy rain. Ford, in general, really needs to up-grade their stereo systems. They had a very hot Pioneer system in '05, but it never seemed to migrate into many F-150's.

Def the nicest truck I have had. Interior is awesome, much better than my '03 Supercrew. No major problems to date...

Wow trooks your truck is sweet....

Ive been checking around on the site, seems to be pretty cool...

I work 3rd shift so im not on too often...

But that is funny that you mentioned the rattle because i test drove one the other day and the headliner by the back window was rattling and we didnt know what it was, haha...

Here are the trucks that im looking at....

Black 2005 FX4...16,000 miles.....black cloth intereor....DARK back windows....extended 6 year warrantee.....25,900

Red one is a 2004 FX4.....27k miles, black LEATHER intereor....Bed is scratched up on the inside......23,900

The black one is DEFF abetter deal with the extended 6 year warrante, but i was really looking for black leather, sunroof.....and the black truck will be a pain to keep looking good...

One more consideration might be how you want to maintain it...

Black paint is a monster to maintain and shows swirls, scratches, and EVERYTHING ELSE on the planet or under the sun. Red will be a little better...

Just thinking out loud here... I have a BLACK KR and *LOVE* it but, it's a big time labor of love keeping it looking sharp and swirl free.

RRT - I really like your 2 tone on your truck....

Im going to another dealership possibly tomorrow to see what they can do for me....

If they will give me a decent trade in, plus the 8-10k $ off a new 06, i might just get a brand new one....Ide rather not be in debt over my head with my motorcycle payment and ATV payment, but i really want a new truck, ive been trying to sell the bike and ATV....

That Black FX4 sure does look sweet. After the 4 black trucks I bought back-to-back in the 1990's, I'll never go there again. Way too much work keeping them looking nice. Considering that FX4 has the XLT level interior, I think the price is a little high.

Of the two, the Red one would get my . Nice looking truck, all leather cow interior and a moon roof!

Welcome, I vote red one even tho some of the even newer trucks have less problems. Also its background, not back round.

You can get a brand new 2007 model for $9-10k off MSRP. 2006 models should be $10-14k off. That black one looks more expensive than a new 2006 model. Red one is a better deal and you can still get an extended warranty from Ford until 35999 miles.

Well im hopefully going tomrrow to get a trade in price and see what this lady can do for me....

6 different people are sending me to her...i talked to one guy last night at work and he traded in his 04 ranger he owed 14,500 on it, they paid it off....he chose everything he wanted on his new truck and it went up to like 41k$......after the rebates and the bottom price the lady gave him with zero money down he only financed for 26k....

She sells trucks for 500 over invoice and the 06's are like 10k off msrp, so who knows...

If they give me a good trade in price i will deff have a new truck within the next couple weeks....
