Question Towing with my '06 Screw

In December I plan on trailering my other truck, 1985 K5 Blazer, back from East Texas. My question is this, how will my 1/2 ton Screw do while pulling a trailer with a 3,500 lb truck on it? The reason I'm trailering it is because I just had the blazer redone and it has 33x12.50's on it and it gets about 8 mpg on the HWY. So besides paying for gas for two vehicles will my '06 Screw handle the job?

Should be just fine. Trailer brakes (surge w/ U-haul rentals for example or electric) would be great.

We hauled our Blazer back from dallas (to Ama.) and it handled it just fine. Had to fill up I beleive twice on the way back, and it might have taken an hour longer than usual ( due to snow, maybe?) Your truck is deffinatly up to the task!

Here's a link that lists the weight of the K5 Blazers. http://coloradok5.com/specs.shtml#1985

Thanks Six, I printed it out so I can compare it to my door panel when I get to Texas.

Well I had to end up driving my Screw and the Blazer back to Alabama from Texas. I couldn't find anyone that would rent me a trailer to put the Blazer on. I tried U-Haul, Budget and Ryder but nobody would rent a hauler to me. Oh well, the new 350 engine did just fine and so did the Screw just had to pay for gas for two gas guzzlers.

Thanks for all the help.

Budget said that inorder for them to rent me the car/truck hauler that I would have to rent one of their trucks to pull it. Uhaul said that the K5 Blazer was to big (on the phone with me sitting at a computer screen looking at exactly what she was looking at and I called BS on it and told her that I was looking online while I was talking to her). All she was doing was reading the screen, like she's trained to do, and tell me, the customer, yes or no. She said that the MAX width of the vehicle could only be 75" and I told her no, on your website it says that the MAX vehicle width can be 79.25" and she told me that the K5 Blazer is 79.20" and if she read the note right under that description it says "any vehicle over 75" will need to use the late model trailer identifiable by the silver metalic color". Then she preceeded to tell me that the K5 weighed to much and I again told her NO, the MGVW is 4500 and the empty weight is 3500. Short story long is that I ended up driving my Screw and my K5 from East Texas back to Southeast Alabama and it was probably cheaper than renting a trailer anyway.

Yeah I thought about that too. BUT, knowing my luck the trailer would break halfway home.
