Good Buy Verification - Update with pics

Update....decided to go for it! Love the truck, put nearly 300 miles the first weekend.....here's a pic
Thanks to everyone who responded...your help was definitely appreciated

Hello to everyone, I'm new here and new to Ford Trucks. I'm on the verge of purchasing an 07 F-150 Screw Lariat loaded. The MSRP is 41585. I have been able to get the dealer to go to basically invoice (37752) and then take off the $3000 rebate available now, so 34,752. I'm trading in an 02 Avalanche. I'm getting a reasonable trade-in on it as per Kelly and the other sources ($10000 with 90,XXX miles).

My question is: is this a good deal as far as what others have been able to do?

Would I be able to do any better with an Xplan PIN?

Thanks everyone...I look forward to being a new Ford owner soon!

that sounds like a great deal! youre gettin a 07 for a 06 price! what ticks me off sometimes is how at the first of the year, they act like they cant budge off more than a couple g's, and then at the end of the year, they can magically knock off like 7 or 8 g's. makes me not even want to buy a new truck!

Sales price is okay, invoice minus rebates. 2006 models have been seeling for 10-14k off MSRP for 6 months, so 6 months from now that's what people will buy 2007 models for.

No comment about the trade in price.

I got 10k off the sticker on my 2005, without negotiating.

I guess they were giving them away in '05

My buddy has (had) a 2000 Silverado with 170,000 miles on it up til about 6 weeks ago till he got hit by another driver and totaled his truck. He got $10,300 out of the insurance company with a little negotiating. You might be able to get more then $10K.

I just purchased a 07' F-150 Lariat and told the dealer that I would only pay invoice. I do auto financing for a living and if you can get close to invoice you are getting a great deal. Used cars are a different story.

Go to Edmuds.com to get dealer invoice, rebates and "true market value"... this is what cars are selling for in your zip code.

I don't know exactly what your buying, but when I type in Lariat 4dr SuperCrew 4WD Styleside 6.5 ft. LB (5.4L 8cyl 4A), with all the typical options, I get invoice of $34,782 and true market value of $33,669, which is below invoice because Ford has a $3,000 cash to customer for this model running throught 11/30.

Check this out and tweak to your exact specifications:

Thanks for the link! I loaded in all the specific options and it calculated the exact MSRP ($41,585) and invoice with the slight glitch that it didn't subtract the Lariat Sirius tunes discount ($495) they have on the window stickers.
Anyway, The price the dealer and I settled on is the same invoice price they have listed and then we subtracted the $3000 rebate. So infact, I guess you could say I got it for $3000 under invoice OTD (out the door)!

Edmund's TMV (what they say people in my area are paying) says most are paying $2500 more for the same vehicle.

As well, I checked the price for the trade-in and Edmunds came up with $9500 to $10,500 depending on the condition. My trade-in has a small crease in the door so I guess the dealer is being fair on the trade-in price as well!

From what I hear, most dealers make the bulk of their profit in the service bay and not in the sales of vehicles these days. I'm glad that I can do the majority of the needed repairs myself.

Thanks to all who replied.
It is good to get feedback on purchases like this. I'm going to pick up the Supercrew on Saturday. So by this weekend I will officially be a member in good standing (ie who actually owns a Ford)!

Sounds like 1 hell of a deal for '07s. I haven't seen or heard of a Lariat like that going for less that $36,000. But yeah '06s are the same and you could save like 25% on one of those.
