weird rain noise, anyone else?//?
Ok, as you may have alreay read, I just bought by 2001 SCREW. I have only had it a few weeks, but 1 very distracting thing I have noticed is a LOUD drip sound from the passenger side rear door, seems to be coming from behind the panel (tan on mine) to the rear of the window. VERY anoying, there are no signs of leaking, and it is only at that door. has anyone else had this issue before I pull it apart? Are there suppose to be sound deadning panels there? Thanks agian

my 03 s'crew also makes that exact noise from the same door when it's raining. it's been doing that since new. not sure what it is either but i just turn up the radio and drown it out. just as long as it doesn't leak i don't care. my old GMC xcab use to have terrible wind noise coming from the doors all the time so to me this is nothing so i never worried about it.

ya, it is a wierd noise, sounds like someone is tapping on the window or the outside trim as your moving along. you slow down it goes away. it just might be the force of the rain/water being pushed back into the door seam as your going 50mph. if i ever find out i'll let you know.

I am a 2001, and have the exact same problem. It is very annoying. Last weekend, I had the popular sun roof problem, and I decided to remove the sun roof assembly to fix it myself. While doing so, the sun roof has a drain tube on each corner that runs down the front windshield pillars, and the rear door pillars. I can only imagine that it may be the hose banging on something as the water passes through it. I tried to mess with it, but the noise is still there, I do think that it is less frequent now. This may be a shot in the dark, and it is a total pain to remove the headliner to get to it. Personally, I am going to live with it until I know for sure what is causing it. Let me know if you figure it out.

it has nothing to do with the sunroof because i do not have one( i will never have one again). it only happens when it's raining and the truck is moving at speed. if i ever figure it out i will post.
