Price for 2007 Lariat?

I am using the military program to order a 2007 Lariat SCREW 4x2 with Chrome Package and Cabin Chairs. The price I would pay is $31,066 and I am just wondering if that is a good price. I am deployed to Iraq and unable to go to the local dealer and ask them direct questions; and they will not answer me via email as well. Any advice will help. Thanks.

You can get about $8000 of options on a Lariat so giving a random number means nothign to me. MSRP or invoice vs. sales price before TTL is the only way to evaluate a fair price. Everything else is a numbers game. I would not pay more than $8k under MSRP for any F-150 as 2006 models are now going for $10-12k off.

So you are saying dealerships are selling the 06 models for $8000 or even $10000-$12000 under the actual msrp price. That's lower than invoice . I am buying one in a few months as soon as I pay of my other car( Chevy), and this will be my first ford purchase. If that's the case I am gonna load up on some other options. Is this discount on the Harley trucks too. It seems to good to be true.

Won't return e-mails?

Well, first off, if the dealer will not answer any questions, or return e-mails, I'd be looking elsewhere pretty quick. NOt sure what options you have in terms of purchasing though ther military program, but there's only about 6 zillion Ford Dealers to deal with.

What the other poster was suggesting is that there are many different factory options and unless you detail exactly which list of options.extras you are getting, it's tough to pinpoint the price.

You listed a very basic description, Lariat 4x2 with Chrome and captains chairs....what about every other factory option? May sound trivial, but those little extras are the big profit centres, and they have an impact on price....potentially in the thousands of $$$.

Too bad about the poor service.....guess they figure if your supposedly getting a good deal/price, service is not included/covered.

Well for instance if I go to edmunds.com, I type in that I want a lariat supercrew 4x2, black on black, sunroof, captains chairs w/center console shifter, deluxe heated seats, 6 disc changer, and 3.73 non-limited slip rear and it gives me a msrp price of 37,300, invoice of 33,059, and a customer cash adjusted true market value of 30,036. However, I am not military or a college student. I know it depends on dealers, but is it pretty common right now for them to be selling at invoice or lower?

At the "FordDirect.com" website you can go online to "build your own vehicle" and choose your own options. It only gives the option for up to 2006 right now, 2007 is not in the program yet, as of the last time I looked.

At the end it will compute what the MSRP and "invoice" prices are for the specific vehicle you chose options for. It will also tell you if there are any "similiar" vehicles already on the lot of a dealership anywhere close to you (marketing gimmik??? - I really don't know for sure).

Once you have those $$'s, you also need to know that if you do buy a new 2006 BEFORE 07/05/06 Ford is offering something like $3,500 back, with ANOTHER $1,000 back for financing (if you finance a minimum of $7,500 in a simple interest loan that you could even pay off early if you wanted to) for a total of $4,500 of what would otherwise be the "price " without that $4,500.

You SHOULD be able to get most (if not all of that) off the INVOICE price, and maybe even a little more from the dealership itself according to their current sales and inventory.

Most guys here probably already know this stuff, but there may be some who do not. Hope it helps someone.

One thing that is a plus in buying a F150 IMHO. Since the F150 sells so well, they make a lot of them. Once you have a (reasonable) price that you are willing to pay, find a dealer who will sell you a truck at that price.

The dealer knows that if you won't pay his price, someone else will, but if he won't sell you a truck at your (fair) price, you also need to know that there are a LOT of other dealerships and trucks out there!

I have heard ads for base F150 Xl's priced as low as $13k, and for STX's in the $17-$18K range.

Your new truck is out there somewhere!

Good luck!

PLUS - I don't know what the restrictions/requirements are, but I have seen the offer of "free gas till 2007" advertised around here...
