Just did my first fill up with the 06 screw and got 318 to 20.168. Or about 15.7 that was both city and highway. And have been putting my foot into it to see if it can compare to my old 03 that got between 15-17mpgs. Dose anyone else have the ford recommends BP on their gas cap???

almost forgot its a 5.4 ,3.73ls,4x4, and really stock.

when i first got my '03 screw 4x4 i was getting around 17-18. that was driving real slow and babying her. i installed a magnaflow exhaust and it dropped to 14 (it's all my fault i couldn't lay off the pedal cause i wanted to hear the exhaust) i put on 33" tires and it dropped to 12. i gave up trying to keep track of the MPG, i suggest you do the same, it will drive you crazy!

reg cab style side MPG

I was getting about 13-14 MPG highway(80-85mph) with my 98 4x4 reg cab short box... I'm running a 4" rancho lift, 317/70R17 BFG All terrains.... I have MSD coil packs, K&N Gen II FIPK, ghranitelli 80mm mass air meter, 70mm throttle body with the elbow ported and polished to match, 4.10 gears. Oh, and it's a 4.6L

I just put on a gibson dual cat back, bassani 2 cat y-pipe and JBA stainless equal langth ceramic coated headers, but havn't done much driving yet to get any handle on improvements.....

2001 Screw 4x4 5.4 3.55 255/70/16

Combined city/highway normal commute stuff we average between 15 and 16. Highway only the best I ever got was just over 17, and that was Vegas to San Diego, cruise set at 75.

milage

Something must be wrong with my truck On the highway as long as I keep it under 85 I get 20.4MPG around town I get 15 to 17 according to how hard I drive. While pulling my 5000lb camper I get 13mpg By the way I have a 2001 supercrew with the 5.4 towpac. and 3.55 gears The towing milage was in the east TN mountains.

Yep,

Your truck is definetely sick.
That ain't right, as you can tell by most other responses. My 13.5 avg is w/ my normal above the traffic flow speed. It only went to about 14.5-15 when I reeaaallllly babied it around for a few weeks. Most other SCREW owners I know are about the same as mine. Consider yourself quite lucky is yours is running that effiecient. The 99 & newer chevys at my old employer were usually 17.5-19.5. The owner kept up w/ his and avg about 20 w/ many tanks at 22+. Ext Cab,5.3, auto,2wd, 3.42,toolbox & stuff, 100kmi.
Keep it up

I drive an '04 Supercrew, 5.4L engine, 3.73 diff. and repeatedly get 20.1-20.4 mpg from fill up to fill up. This is combined city/highway driving. I have a 22 mile commute, mostly interstate, but during drive time, the interstate always backs up, and there's usually 5-10 miles of stop-and-go creep along.

I am extremely happy with the mileage, but I have to drive very carefully to get over 20. Very slow take offs; never exceed 2,000 rpm. Cruise at 60 mph.

If I drive the F-150 haphazardly, the mpg drops to 15-16 VERY quickly.

Later,
CW

Mine truck is an '05 5.4 4x2 3.55LS...mileage in the city is 15 mpg. Highway speeds between 70-76mph varies from 16 to 20 mpg, depending how hard the wind is blowing (a stiff headwind knocks about 3 mpg off the average). Towing...the highway milage drops to less than 13 mpg.

People buy the trucks for the convenience and hauling/towing capabilities, not for the fuel economy. Never use truck and fuel economy in the same sentence.

I'm usually just under 15 MPG in my 05 FX4 Supercrew, all stock. I have a 50+ mile round trip to work everyday, most of my commute is spent driving 75+, at least 3 miles of that is spent stuck in Traffic idling waiting to cross the river from Illinois into St. Louis MO.

It seems that everyone is seeing about the same mileage.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to achieve better mileage? (I mean over and above the usual speech of change your oil on time, don't floor it after stop lights, and don't go over 70MPH)
