03 SuperCrew value?
03 SuperCrew value?
What do you guys think a fair price for a 2003 Black F150 4X4 5.4L SuperCrew Lariat(30,000 miles) in perfect condition with the following options be worth-I am thinking about selling and would value everyones opinion:
ARE Matching Cap-remote lock and carpeted
Bed Rug
Sliding Sunroof
Magnaflow catback exhaust
rear stabilizer bar
Edlebrock IAS shocks
Front Stainless Bull Bar
Heated leather seats
Yakima rack
3.73 axle
Tow Pack
Chrome running boards
Weathertech window vent guards
K&N drop-in filter
All synthetic fluids used throughout truck.
Garage kept and babied
I checked KBB but they can really can be off on the + and - side and if I do sell I want to ask for a fair and reasonable price! Thanks for your help.

Good luck.

I bought mine 2002 last year with Black Supercrew FX4 Lariat 22K miles for $23K, that was before the gas price spike. Usually the options add little to the value in dealer's eyes. So I try not to spend so much on aftermarket goodies as it also deflates the depreciation dollars.

I got my 2003 Screw for about $10k off the $38.5k MSRP win June 2003. People are getting $10-12k off MSRP 2005-2006 Screws. With fuel in the $2.50-3.00 gallon range, resale value for large trucks and SUV's have dropped. If you have an offer for $20k, take it. I wouldn't expect private party to get much more on a 3 year old truck. Aftermarrket things rarely add value to a vehicle. There is too much personalization. While you may find the right buyer with the same tastes, you tuirn off 20 others.
If you use KBB/Edmunds (skip NADA), never select excellent condition. Good/clean is typical of what dealers offer for trade.

The other day Ford anounced that it's F150 sales are up 5.4 percent, give or take. I guess if someone is going to buy a truck/Suv, its going to be a Ford. My truck has been used mostly on the highway and I only added the mods for looks. I am lucky to be in the position not having to sell but the truck is just sitting in my garage. I drive it about once a week and I have to decide if I really want to sell it. it is tough because it really is a great truck and I really like the 03 style much more then the new 04+'s.
I understand. I only drive my Screw once every couple weeks right now just to keep the fluids flowing. I picked up a cheap lease vehicle intending to replace the Screw, but have now decided to keeep the Screw and drive it again when the other lease is over. For what I could sell my 03 for and the cost of a new 2006 or 2007 model to replace it, I'll just keep my 03 with similarily low miles. But I question my desicion every day.
Owning a cool truck is sometime just like owning a house that has a maximum general value because of the area etc. and you have decided no matter what to put in a new addition equal to the rest of the house. At some point you do these things because it's cool, or for performance or whatever and you know you will never get all of your money back. The NADA handbook in which the dealers use list add ons which you can be given credit, aftermarket goodies are given no credit. Unless you get someone who will pay for the aftermarket goodies (the public) then you will get basically the same for someone who has a truck just like yours without the aftermarket items. So, the finance value and trade values only relate to those values in the NADA. Cash deals are the best with the public because they are more willing to put a value on aftermarket items. Only my 2 cents worth - used to sell cars so I have a good grasp of how the process works. Semper Fi
