Anyone know how to make the seatbelt alarm stop?

I have a 2005 SuperCrew. I want to know how to make the seatbelt buzzer stop. 90% of the time I buckle my seatbelt but sometimes I just run to the store and back and don't always buckle my seatbelt. I know this is unsafe but sometimes I dont feel like buckling my seatbelt. Also some of my passengers dont buckle their seatbelts.

I know the buzzer shuts off after it buzzes 7 times. But I would like to know how to go about unhooking the buzzer altogether. I asked the guy at the dealership and he told me that the airbags and the seatbelt buzzer were all wired together. So if I unhooked the buzzer, the airbags wouldnt work. I should have called BS on that but I didnt.

If anyone has any idea how to go about unhooking this please let me know.

I dont know about you guys but it is annoying as hell to me.

Push the release button. It works on my 03. I don't know about your 05 though.

You can disable it on the pre 04s but not 04+

look in your owners manual. there's a step by step you have to follow. real easy, i did it to my 03 s'crew and now just the light comes on, no more buzzer.

didn't notice he had an '05. i'd look under the seat and unplug it to see what happens.

Read your owner's manual. This is from the 04 manual.

One time disable for driver-only BeltMinder
Any time the safety belt is buckled and then unbuckled during an
ignition ON cycle, the BeltMinder will be disabled for that ignition cycle
only.
Deactivating/activating the driver/passenger BeltMinder feature
The driver and front passenger BeltMinder are
deactivated/activated independently. When deactivating/activating
one seating position, do not buckle the other position as this will
terminate the process.
Read steps 1 - 4 thoroughly before proceeding with the
deactivation/activation programming procedure.
The driver and front passenger BeltMinder features can be
deactivated/activated by performing the following procedure:
Before following the procedure, make sure that:
• The parking brake is set
• The gearshift is in P (Park) (automatic transmission)
• The ignition switch is in the OFF position
• The driver and front passenger safety belts are unbuckled
To reduce the risk of injury, do not deactivate/activate the Belt
Minder feature while driving the vehicle.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT
START THE ENGINE)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1
minute)
• Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt
warning light turns off.
3. For the seating position being disabled, buckle then unbuckle the
safety belt 9 times, ending in the unbuckled state. (Step 3 must be
completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt warning light turns
off.)
• After step 3, the restraint system warning light (airbag light) will be
turned on for three seconds.
4. Within 10 seconds of the light turning on, buckle then unbuckle the
safety belt.
• This will disable the BeltMinder feature for that seating position if it is
currently enabled. As confirmation, the restraint system warning light
will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
• This will enable the BeltMinder feature for that seating position if it is
currently disabled. As confirmation, the restraint system warning light

This is after the section that has your excuse:

“Crashes are rare events” 36700 crashes occur every day. The
more we drive, the more we are
exposed to “rare” events, even for
good drivers. 1 in 4 of us will be
seriously injured in a crash during
our lifetime.
“I’m not going far” 3 of 4 fatal crashes occur within 25
miles of home.

“Belts are uncomfortable” We design our safety belts to enhance
comfort. If you are uncomfortable -
try different positions for the safety
belt upper anchorage and seatback
which should be as upright as
possible; this can improve comfort.
“I was in a hurry” Prime time for an accident.
BeltMinder reminds us to take a few
seconds to buckle up.
“Safety belts don’t work” Safety belts, when used properly,
reduce risk of death to front seat
occupants by 45% in cars, and by
60% in light trucks.
“Traffic is light” Nearly 1 of 2 deaths occur in
single-vehicle crashes, many when
no other vehicles are around.
“Belts wrinkle my clothes” Possibly, but a serious crash can do
much more than wrinkle your clothes,
particularly if you are unbelted.
“The people I’m with don’t
wear belts”
Set the example, teen deaths occur 4
times more often in vehicles with
TWO or MORE people. Children and
younger brothers/sisters imitate
behavior they see.
“I have an air bag” Air bags offer greater protection when
used with safety belts. Frontal airbags
are not designed to inflate in rear and
side crashes or rollovers.
“I’d rather be thrown clear” Not a good idea. People who are
ejected are 40 times more likely
to DIE. Safety belts help prevent
ejection, WE CAN’T “PICK OUR
CRASH”.

Good find.

People that use their trucks as farm only trucks will find this helpful

Putting my seatbelt on always made my alarm go away. Kept me from getting a ticket or two as well .

I just did the method that APT posted... worked like a charm! I usually wear my seatbelt, but when I don't feel like it I don't want the truck reminding me. Let me wreck & die, or let the cops remind me instead.

In case someone over looks it, you have to disable the drivers & passengers seats independantly.

Hey weaseled...I noticed you have the 285/70/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers on your truck. Is that the biggest you could go without a lift? Or did you do a lift/leveling kit? I talked to discount tire and they said I could do 295/65/18's without rubbing or trimming my truck. Just want to make sure before I drop $800 on tires.

One correction: I actually have 285/60/18's. I'm positive I could have went bigger, but I wanted to stay as close to stock tire size as possible. My truck didn't come with the FX4 18" rims... it came with the ugly FX4 17" wheels. My stock tire size on 17's were 255/70, so the 285/60's only throw my speedo off less than 1 mph @ 65 mph.

My truck hasn't been lifted or leveled. So far the only external mods I've done it is the wheels/tires & a set of bullz ***** One thing I will say about the Terra Grapplers... these things are no joke. I've had them in mud, beach sand & snow. I haven't even came close to getting stuck and/or loosing control a single time. (Of course I've been selective on which mud holes to run thru! I'm not going to bury it up to my door handles & try to crawl out in 4L!)
