Prodigy brake controller location
Can't tell you exactly where because that is a pretty person spacific decision.
I have mounted a few and have a few considerations for you to ponder...
1. Ease, where are your wires coming from and how far do you want to run them.
2. Position of unit. If it is an inertia type unit it wil need to be level to an extent dictated by your manual.
3. Reachability. If it is a manual type unit or has a manual override you will want to be able to reach it without too much trouble.
4. Clearance. Put it somewhere you won't be banging into it. there are some pretty delicate parts and inertia switchesin those little boxes.
5. How much are you going to use it. I have installed a couple of them with disconnecting them and removal figured in. Some people just use them to bring the family boat the the docks and home and just don't want that thing in there the rest of the time. Some guys need it every day.
I hope this helps guide you!

I waited for someone else to reply before doing a reply.
My Prodigy is a custom mount off the lower apron of the dash over the trans hump.
The mounting is off the bottom of a heavy panel containing a trans temp and oil pressure gauge.
Your book will tell you the max angle the Prodigy can be mounted at like about 70* from level and stiill fully work. This corresponds to about when the red lens angle front become level.
This location make it easy to reach when you have to manuel actuate in event trailer sway gets out of control assuming you bias the braking to favor the trailer by a small amount..
The gauges are 2-5/8" white faced and very brightly lit at nite to the point I hardly have to bend neck to see the gauges or reach very far for manuel brake control and system adjustment.
Mounting the panel to the lower dash apron takes some design effort to accomplish because there is no room to drill for screws unless you have a right angle small drill attachment.

I mounted my Prodigy Controller in the little pocket in the dash at the bottom, drilled a 1 inch hole in the back for the cable pass into it,used the metal hanger to hold it in place.Easy to see and it's at the right angle Found a use for that hole in the dash after all.
