It usually get me 300-320 miles to refill the tank that's right before low fuel warning lits. So when I past 300, then I'm relieved. If I get around 280-290, I wonder and analyze what I did differently. When towing 2000lb trailer, I refill at 260-270. That's with my 02 Supercrew Lariat FX4 with 5.4L and 3.55 with BF Goodrich T/A 265/70/17 tires. Oh, I usually drive mixed and go 75-80 on highway. After going through two different F150's in past 5 years, anything over 300 miles before fill up is acceptable in my standard.

I get about 250 miles per tank with a 2001 supercrew. But now with a lift I just got 210 miles per tank. How are all of you guys getting way way way better gas milage? And if there anything I can add to my truck to get better gas milage? Thanks
Mike

The guys here that know more about gearing and the speedometer will have to help me out, but if you put on larger tires remember that your speedometer will show you going slower than you are and thus the trip odo will show fewer miles than you're actually driving.

Lots of people seem to have different size gas tanks. Dont forget to post your tanks capacity.

My 05 5.4 with 30 gallon seems to be getting 15 mpg lately for some reason. All stock lariat screw with 3.73 non-limited slip rear.

My 2006 Crew first fillup was just the other day. The sticker on my truck says it has a 30 gallon tank. The dealer filled up the tank when I picked up my truck off the lot, the guage read full. I drove 246.3 miles and the "low fuel" warning came on. I went and filled it up, it took only 23.49 gallons to fill it. I also have the factory 20" wheels. I did 30%highway, 70% around town. That means I was getting 10.4mpg. OUCH. I have no idea if the computer was adjusted at the factory for my 20" wheels, I hope so. Right now I am down to 1/2 tank again and have driven apx 168miles. I sure hope I make it to at least 300-350 miles on full tank, but so far my mpg sucks. Would larger wheels make the computer think you drove more or less miles if it was not calibrated? I love this truck, but man what is up with the mpg?

Ouch, Duc! No offense, but your truck really sucks!

I now have 1400 miles on my month old 06 Screw 5.4L Lariat 4x2. I also have the 18" stockers on there too.

I'm doing 420 miles per tank and that is with a couple gallons left over at fill up. The puter says I'm averaging 16.2 which is right on the money doing manual calculations- had 372 miles on the tank and filled with 22.9 gallons.

I drive 70% freeway and 30% city, however in So Cal, city driving gets better mileage than the dang freeways! Stop, go, slow. Stop, go, slow!

I'm finding it to be a challenge to try and get the computer to keep gaining on the mileage. Best I've gotten so far was 17.2, however that was very short lived!

Yes I hear you. I am thinking my factory 20" might have something to do with the poor mpg, but then again, I thought I could at least get close to 400miles per tank. If I can make it to at least 350 miles per tank I would be happy, and I might do that on my next fill up, we shall see. I am in Socal as well, but alot of my driving is in the "hood", or going to and from Hollywood on surface streets. So far I have seen little freeway driving. If you are really averaging 16mpg you are doing very well!

Yea i second that!!!!!!!

And i cant find it now, but that one guy probably just changed his actual tank out, and maybe he has a V6

I cant see getting another 200 miles out of each tank, i seem to think that is just impossible
