Remote Starter Question - Seat Heaters
Remote Starter Question - Seat Heaters
For the FORD Gold System Remote Starter the manual states:
Turning on the Rear-Window Defroster (if connected):
While the vehicle is running via remote start, press on the remote control. The
system will flash the parking lights to confirm and activate the vehicle’s rear defroster for 10 minutes, or for the remainder of your vehicle’s preset runtime time limit.
Does anyone know if you can change this operation to operate the seat heaters instead? Granted having the truck warm when I get it in the morning is nice but havin gthe driver's seat heater ON would be a welcomed addition.
Is there a techie out there who knows how to make this work? Thanks in advance.

I hooked my wifes 2000 Expedition and my 2001 Excursions seat heaters up. On our switches it took a 12 volt positive pulse.
Test your seat but most are a positive pulse. If positive pulse you will need to add a relay...this is how you do it.
Connect pins 87 and 86 to 12 volts.
Connect pin 85 to the BLUE/WHITE wire on your system.
Connect pin 30 to the wire that pulses 12 volts when you hit your seat heater button.
