I've got the Silverstars, both headlights and foglights. Big difference in how well I can "see" at night. And that's what counts. They're not that expensive, well worth it, no contest. Highly recommended.

I was somewhat concerned with the higher temp of the Silverstar bulbs and some potential affect on the foglight lenses. But I've been using them now for about a year and I don't see any impact.

I got a very visual example of how well they work this weekend. My truck was idling beside another vehicle on Friday, both with the lights on, as we walked out to check the area where we would be setting up camp. The headlights and foglights on my truck were a LOT brighter and whiter than the other vehicle. Very impressive.

Guess I forgot to post back with the results. Oops.

Well, they are definitely whiter, could tell that immediately. As far as seeing better, it's kinda up in the air. It seems like the light gets swallowed up a bit on the roads, but thats in town where there is plenty of light anyway. Out on the highways outside of town its pretty easy to see the difference, things appear a bit easier to distinguish when they come into range of the lights.
Using the brights is where I noticed the biggest difference though, especially when I pull the lever back toward me and hold it (like when you just flash your brights). That makes a HUGE difference that I noticed.
IMO, they are a nice upgrade if you are replacing bulbs anyway, drop the extra $$ and throw these in. If you dont have any problem with your current bulbs though, I'd wait till the opportunity presents itself before spending the $$.

To see further down the road, HID's will be an improvement but at quite a cost. I installed a set of Hella driving lamps and they really light up the road. I drive a lot of 2 lane mountain roads out in the middle of nowhere and the Hella's make it very safe.
