Wish I could help, I do remember what you are talking about. You are probably going to need to make some time and do the search. Good luck.

Does anyone know how to do this on a 99'? The wiring is alittle different, so is the switch.

My 99 has different wiring setup but the switch mechanism is still similar in design. Could someone please describe what wires must be spliced to complete the electrical modification?

Here's another link with the exact same info. But you'll notice at the top, there is a paragraph that tells you that spilicing the #2 and #12 wire together (making the fogs turn on w/ the parking lights) will burn out a fuse. Is this a problem, or what? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the end result is:

Fogs work with parking lights on.
Fogs still work with head lights on.
Fogs also work with autolamps.

Ok... so I pull the headlight plate. Undo all of the harnesses and take the part inside for studying. As I disassemble the switch I pull too hard on the headlight **** and all of the sliding black switches and copper conductors and micro springs fly apart. Well, needless to say, I invented a few new expletives. After an hour of work with an ohm meter I have the switch reassembled and working again. Now I'm solving what circuits must be closed for the fog lights to be activated in park. I did not realize how complex this procedure could be after the mechanical modification. By the way, it is a 99 non-autolamp non-drl with stock foglamps. Give me a bit and I will find what wires must be spliced in the harness to achieve fog lamps and parking lights only. Being a 99 this electrical mod is different than that of the lightning 01 screw mod. Once I figure it out I am considering making a step by step procedure with pics so that you 99 guys can take a crack at it. If anyone has already done this please save my dead horse beating.

Ok, just found the article....that concludes this rant!

At whatever point i put mine in i would probably just set up a seperate relay/ switch so they can be independently operated. No need for them on a daily use IMO....
