Will the 1997 supercrew rear seat fold down?
Will the 1997 supercrew rear seat fold down?
Picked up this truck the other day and I can't figure out for the life of me how to fold down the rear seat. The seat bottom has a little nylon tag you pull, and it detaches the lower seat cushion from the metal support from, letting you fold it forward; but it doesn't seem like there's any way to fold down the rear seatback.
I'd like to mount an amp behind the seatback if I can, but I'm starting to have my doubts that I can fit it back there.

If it's a '97, it's not a supercrew. You must have a supercab (either no rear doors, or rear hinged doors). The seat back on the supercabs does not fold down. It can be removed by finding the two outboard lower mounts (feel between the seat and back), I believe you push in the tab and lift the seatback upward at the same time. Do one side at a time. Not much room back there, but an amp might fit.
The 97 was either a regular or extended cab only. The extended cab's rear 60/40 split bench's seat bottom could be flipped and folded forward on to the floor for a flat steel surface. The teather pulls for the release are at both seatbelt latches. Here's a pic from my order guide...

The '97 Supercab's seats fold down, not up. There's not much room behind the rear seat for an amp.
If you have captain's chairs, you can mount two amps in the arm rest storage "thingy" between the seats. I put a 10 CD changer and amp in mine.
