Back in July during the Employee/Family Incentives, I got my 05 XLT 5.4L 4x4 3.73 gears, sliding rear window, upgraded rims, tow package, bed extender, power driver seat, privacy glass, extended warranty and GAP for $29,500...I think MSRP was $37K....Not bad I thought considering my BK had just wrapped up in March and I only had $1000 down....

Hello. I just bought an '05 SCrew three days ago and have been looking for f-150 forums since. This seems to be the best one so this is the only one I have registered for. I just picked up my 5.4 XLT for $22,5 and felt like I got a pretty good deal. Looks like I fell in the middle somewhere between everyone here. The keep it simple price on my truck was 24,500. MSRP was 32,000 and I picked it up for 22,500 + tax/tag/title. So far I love the truck. I still have my 2000 dodge dakota but it gets the same gas mileage (4.7l) just without the roomy cab of my new SCrew.

Well, I wasn't going to replace my trusty '00 F150 until next summer, but when I saw what Ford was doing with the '05s, I put in a word to Santa! He brought me an '05 Crew XLT 4 X 4 5.4L w/3.73 limited slip, 2-tone paint, 7200# payload pkg, platform running boards, tow pkg, fog lamps, deluxe mirrors, & captain's chairs. The sticker was $37, 110, less $1245 for tow 'n' go discount for an MSRP of $35,865. I paid $20K + my trade, + TTL. According to Edmunds, my truck was worth ~$4K as a trade-in. This new 1 is nice! It rides so much better that I can't believe it.

Funny story about the interest rate: the F & I guy quoted me 8.95%, giving me the $1K off for using FMCC. Told him thanks, I could get 6.49 w/1 phone call w/o even really trying. He said to go ahead, he couldn't touch it, I told him OK. Next thing I knew, he faxed me back, FMCC would do 8% which, w/FMCC's $1K made the total of payments the same, & when I do what I'll really do, pay it off early, I'm saving that $1K.

Paid $23,500 complete (reg, tag, tax, etc..) for my 2005 XLT Silver/Black F150 SuperCrew w/5.4L 2wd Class IV tow group, 3.73 rear, elect seat, key pad entry, CD/Tape stereo, Taneau and runnin side tubes.

Truck sticker'd at some rediculous amount of $32K or somethin... so I played the game.

Went in, said I didnt plan on trading, not payin cash, would like to finance with ford credit and need a truck to tow 7K boat rig set up class IV group.

They found me a truck after himhawin about this that and the other... tried to sell me somethin I didnt want (i.e. trucks with roof storage thing... cd changer this and that... bed extender, big tires,... blah blah blah..)
Stuck to my guns, said I dont want no more or no less than XXXX for options and all on a new truck...started markin lines thru stuff I didnt want...

After 4 dealer searches from their database, and 12 trucks later that majically werent available.... they did the good cop/bad cop thing... so I played along.... said ok... just give me the bottom line, what's my bottom line on the truck I want with the options I'm lookin for. Sale's manager jump'd in it with both feet and wrote it down!!! I **** my pants.... I said, ok.. well how much ya give me for my trade? (2001 Dodge 1500 SLT w. 100K miles) which they ended up givin me 7,800 for it and I didnt owe but 5,600 on it!! and then when they asked for my info to apply for Ford Credit, I said that's ok,, I'm pre-approved thru my Credit Union for 4.75% (guess they shoulda wrote in that 2% for themselves!)....

Anywhoo... the sales manager was pissed, but he had it wrote out what the truck would cost me "prior" to any trade or pre credit aproval action with Ford Credit... so after a "short" discussion with the dealership "management", they let that truck go.... Ol boy tried like hell to renegotiate the deal... but didnt happen!

Out the door with a nicely loaded, built for towin 5.4L XLT $23,500 complete (minus tow/go discount, Family day's discount, etc..) and that aint no BS (Just ask Jimmy Smith at Sanford Ford, Sanford NC)... Went back two days later to pick up my new tag's from them and the sale's manager no longer worked there..... wonder what that was all about....

Trick is,, get them to put "their" price (final price) on PAPER "before" any other negotiations... and it doesnt hurt to walk in a dealership ready to "deal"/buy that day either.... 820 credit score got me 4.75% on whatever I wanted (i.e. new/used/etc..)

I saw an add for a 2005 super crew XLT 4' x 4' today at Champion Ford in Nashville for $23,500. It didn't tell the engine, but I'm certain it would be the 4.6. Don't know about gears.

You need to switch credit unions then. My credit score is about 100 points less than yours and I got 4.1% for 72 months. Would have been 3.9% if I went 60 months. This was on my used 2002 Screw, $18k.

New rates were about .2% better too.

Sticker was $35,775.00. I paid $29k and some change, put $5175 in trade equity down plus $2500 in rebates. No ACTUAL CASH out of pocket, payment is $454.12 a month and I have 17 payments to go.

You know in the end the dealer Haggle with me over $200.00 as if it were breaking them. I mean They sent 3 different managers to ask me to work with them over 200.00. Whew...
THATS BECAUSE THEY WERE ALREADY LOSING MONEY.
