I need an quick (correct) answer to a running board question, so I came to the experts for assistance. Does anyone know if the Ford 2006 Super Duty Tubular Elliptical Chrome Running Bars will fit a 2005 F-150 Super Crew, or are the part numbers different?

I would say no.

Without knowing 100%, I would say that there are different mounting points on the frame. Generally, the frames are all predrilled for accessories (running boards/bars, trailer hitches, etc)
