Supercrew exhaust upgrade

I want to upgrade the exhaust on my 5.4 SCREW. I dont want those red-neckish dual rear exit pipes i see every. I want a good deep but quiet driving at 60 system that exits where my factory one does.

I see people talking about ordering the harley one from ford but I might as well keep what I have if i am going to order a ford made system.

I always liked the deep sound of the mustag GTs exhaust. Can I get that to a single pipe?

Go with a Magnaflow 16612. I have the Harley DIDO Magnaflow system for my 2001 and I love the sound of the Magnaflow. If you want a single tip in the stock location, the 16612 will be what you're looking for.

I just had the local muffler shop cut and weld a Magnaflow muffler onto the stock pipe, cut the tip, and weld on nice Magnaflow SS tip. Looks great. Best part, it was $125 total. The stock pipe is SS anyways, so why buy a new SS system.

Thanks people, I just went to Magnaflows website but they dont have a sound byte for the f150 but the expeditions sounded nice. Would I have to buy the muffler setup from them and get it installed or have a shop order it. just wondering price wise which would be better. I just moved to DE and there arent as many shops as in NY where i moved from.

Go to Magnaflows website and find a dealer in your area. For example. The muffler I used from Jegs was $95, my total install for muffler and tip was $125. The tips are $35 from Jegs as well. Most muffler shops can order you anything, but dealers get a better deal.

125 sounds great but magnaflows websites lists the #16612 muffler system at almost $600.00 by itself. I have never done anything like this before so i am confused. I will stop by a few shops and see what they say.

We're talking two different things. I am talking a catback exhaust system (complete). These cheaper numbers are just for a new muffler and tip. The systems are easy enough to install yourself, as they just bolt on. They can be had for considerably cheaper than what Magnaflow lists them at as well. I got mine for about $400 shipped. I have had too many shops cut corners on me, so I decided to just put this one in myself, and I am much happier with it than what I have had in the past from a shop. It's really all a matter of what you want, so you've gotten several different views in this thread. Just decide which option/route you want to go and do some more searching on the forums.

Correct, I am not talking about the entire setup. I am just talking about a muffler and tip. Reusing the same factory pipe. I very comfortable with the muffler shop I use, so I know I get what I ask for. I think that makes a big difference. Best thing to do it check around and see what you can find out.

I put the magnaflow 15609 on my 2003 supercrew. 5.4L It's a cat-back 3" si/so that sounds great. Dont just go with the new muffler and new tip. The 15609 has 3 inch pipe and a 4" (or 3 1/2 maybe) polished stainless steel tip on it already. Not too loud when you drive, but when you start it or step on it, it sounds great. Check it out here. http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...n-326203-pos-1

I installed the Magnaflow SIDO cat back system. Sounds good, looks good, all SS, easy to install.

Oh yes I almost forgot...I also have the dual "Redneckish" SS exhaust coming straight out the back. And for a transplanted Yankee..I like it. LOL
