This is how the story ends on my 2002
On the way to work this morning a small Nissan truck pulled right out in front of me. I walked away, not hurt at all, however Nissan driver left on a stretcher with broken leg among other things (hit him in the driver side door). He will be OK.
Anyway, does it appear that there is enough damage to be totalled or not?
What do you guys think? Will they fix this, or do you think think the truck will be "totalled"?
My driver side door was bent, and lets assume the frame is bent a little.
Any opinions?

I can't say for sure as your damage is more centerd than mine. but the insurancee company should be able to tell you soon (I knew within about 24 hours). My truck is a 2000 and the repair costs totaled $8300. Since your truck is newer you obviously have more value in it, but how much frame damage is too much? keep us posted
P.S. there was damage to the bed as well (that you cant see) so the left side of the bed was replacecd along with the entire front clip.

I had a car accident in 2004, both airbags went off, and the hood was bent up a little(not as bas as yours). I think the total bill in the 6 grand range, I only paid 1 grand so I can't remember. The lady at the shop I took it to, told me they can go up to 14K in damages before they total it out.

My wife wrecked my truck last year, the frame was bent and they did a frame swap on it. Of course mine was pretty new at the time. It's an '03 and at the time i only had 18000 mile on it. Check it out here http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...&album=1&pos=2

Glad to see you're alright. There seems to be a rash of crashes this past couple of weeks. IMO I think that any amount of bent frame is unacceptable. I've heard that frames can be straightened but are they really as good as before the accident??? Even if it could be fixed, subconciously you'd always think there ws somthing wrong. I hope that's not the case and everything works out ok. keep us posted.

Probably so it WILL bend, buckle, and collapse. Otherwise you have no crumple zone and YOU will end up absorbing all of that energy, not a good situation to be in!

just to follow up:
$9500 worth of damage, so they will fix it.
Not sure if frame was bent or not, still try to confirm that.
Thanks to all that replied.
By the way,
Enterprise rent a car, had a 2004 Supercrew so I rented that (its on the other guys insurance, ha ha)
I gotta say I like the ride & interiors of the new models, but still prefer the looks of my old truck *(that is before it was wrecked)
later!
