gas mileage

Hi, I'm looking at a 2002 F150 4x4 supercrew (looks great!) but am not able to find any info on the expected gas mileage. So would you tell me what your experience has been with a similar truck, please do not sugar coat it for me just hit me with the truth. Thanks

My 2002 FX4 Supercrew gets about 12 miles to the gallon. Truck is completely stock except for shocks and K & N filter

I guess I should be pretty muched pleased, then. With my '03 Supercrew FX4 5.4L, I'm averaging around the upper 15s in mpg. Stock everything.

Sure rides sweet.

well for now it would be all stock with mainly freeway driving.

nice truck, expensive picture from a rubber point of view, but who's counting!

My 2002 4x4 w/ 5.4L , 3.55LS, FX4 & canopy averages about 15 mpg with a mix of city/highway driving. My lows run about 14, and highs run up to 19. As I recall the sticker was around 14/17 so I'm pretty much getting that or better. I'm pretty easy on the gas though so that helps.

My truck is stock (tires too) with a 3.73 LS, 5.4L and I am easy on the gas pedal. That equals 16-18mpg highway (60-70 mph).

"MPG"

I avg. 18mpg on my '02 S'crew w/5.4L, 3.55 gears, 2wd, R265R70X16 tires. I live approx. 25 miles from town, so my driving is biased toward highway. I avg'd 17mpg for a long time and recently I picked up to 18mpg (not complaining, but don't know what made it change). Oh, and I have 84000 miles on the clock.

I have a 2002 FX4 F-150 (5.4L) - no mods except 285/70/17 tires. I get about 12 mpg around town and if I am luck I get 15 on the highway. But I drive pretty aggessively, I got 14.5 on the highway on my last trip but that was usually at about 80 - 85 mph and plenty of passing

I get around 13-14 city and 14-16 highway..

On the highway, it literally depends on the winds (tail, head or none) as whether or not I am high or low. The highest I have seen has been almost 18 on the highway with the 91 Octane performance setting on the tuner..

I'm reposting this from another thread.

You guys won't believe this! I did the math!
When I got my truck, I was getting 14mpg. Then I added a tornado which promised a 10% increase. Then a Gibson exhaust that promised 8%. Then a new MAF good for 10%. Then my tonneau should give me 5% increase. The chip promised me 6%(when driving helium footed) Then the E-Fans were good for 10%. Increased the tire pressure for 3%. The TB spacer claimed 7%. K&N FIPK was good for another 8%. Now, do the math!
14x1.1=15.4
15.4x1.08=16.632
16.632X1.1=18.2952
18.2952x1.05=19.20996
19.20996x1.06=20.3625576
20.3625576x1.1=22.39881336
22.39881336x1.03=23.0707777608
23.0707777608x1.07=24.685732204056
24.685732204056x1.08=26.66059078038048
26.7mpg rounded off!
I'm getting 26.7! And I didn't count the supercharger which they say can help mileage when towing.

I keed, I keed!
