UNDERCOVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bought mine over a year ago and it is one of the best investments I have made yet! Quality construction, excellent durability, great flexibility.

Go with Velcro. Otherwise it will flap on the hwy. Look at trucks with snaps on the hwy and you'll see how they luft.

Go with the Undercover I bought mine a week ago today and love it. $629 installed, I had the Extang Black Max on my Screw before this and it was more a pain then the Undercover as far as rolling it up, in cold weather it was hard to re-snap, plus you had the bars, tailgate piece and all the snaps to deal with after you finally got it rolled up and velcroed. and if the cover was dirty or wet... let me tell you then your hands, shirt etc are too.

Well, after researching this, it may not be the most cost-effective option if you really must have it painted. Technically you can, but the entire tonneau must be professionally prepped to obtain a smooth painting surface. Once you do that, durability issues of the paint come into question. One of the nice things about the Undercover is its top-loading capability. I don't think you would want to be standing/loading things on a painted Undercover, but that is just me. Plus, I seem to recall the Undercover rep I talked to discouraging me from painting mine due to warranty issues.

I initially wanted to paint mine, but the black goes well with my silver paint and the benefits of leaving it unpainted outweighed the alternative costs. I keep it conditioned with some "303 Aerospace" every now and then and it keeps up VERY well.

303 Aerospace is a surface protectant used by people who own aircraft and boats. It is designed to keep the outer surfaces of these vehicles in good condition, especially plexiglass/fiberglass. You can find it at boating supply stores (like West Marine) very easily. I like it over Armor All because it doesn't speed up surface decay like Armor All does (or at least seems to). Plus, I believe Undercover recommends 303 Aerospace for care of their products. I use it on everything that isn't metal (including window trim, dash, interior plastic, etc) so it is the only protectant I need to buy.

Thanks for all the feedback and great shots of your trucks. With all the friends wanting my truck for various jobs over the past couple months, I tihink I will most likely go with a roll up type or none at all. I did had the bed sprayed with Line-X and love it.

Extang Full Tilt Snapless on my 01 Screw. It seems, when ever I put someting in the bed, it is allways a few inches from hitting the cover, so the rounded top of the Fulltilt makes it possible to close the cover anyway. I often cary plastic patio chairs when we go camping, and I store them in the bed of the truck at night and I can still close my cover. I also really like the fact that I can take the whole thing off in a matter of seconds just by my self.

I had to roll up the cover a few times when I was away from home and had to bring stuff back, this is a nice option but I still prefer to remove the whole thing

Roll top

I have a Roll Back top on my '02 Screw and love it. I haul about 1-2 times per week and the top locks in place when pulled. I really prefer it to the tilt cover I used to have on a F250. It doesn't have to be removed for tall items.

I put an Advance 2 piece folding cover on my 02 screw. Lockable, hardcover, comes off by loosening 2 bolts with a pair of pliers or a wrench.
The Fold-a-Cover is very similar and very nice.
I haul big stuff too every so often. Refridgerators, couches etc.
Otherwise, I keep my stuff under lock and key.

I had an Extang full tilt on my 03 and I plan to buy one for this truck. I really liked it.
