Thursday's Child - Newbie

Hello All,

I pick up my new pickup tomorrow. A 2002 SCrew Lariat 4x4, Red over tan, tan leather and only 20k on her. Perfect.

I've lurked on the site for a week or so. Many of you have done some great mods and take a lot of pride in your trucks.

My questions are likely typical. Which accessory is the best bang for the buck? Which engine mod is the best? and should I expect any "issues" with the truck, considering it has been gently used and regularly serviced?

Welcome to the site & congrat's on the new S'crew! My '02 has 80000 miles and counting. Only lost one "COP" at around 35000 miles, so pretty much trouble free. Mine is 2wd and I have not "modded" it up, only driven and maintained it. Your's should serve you well, have fun!

to the forum Ratso and congrats on the new Lariat Screw. It sounds like a beauty. The biggest “bang for the buck” mod is a programmer by far. Check out the “Chips & Programming” forum for lots of info on the subject.

thanks jpdadeo. I am reading the other threads and find the programmer to be very popular. But which one? I'll keep reading.

Check out the Troyer Performance web sight. Mike Troyer is the tune “maestro”

I got the Xcalibrator and it rocks. It made my truck come alive, fun to drive.
