undercover tonneau

I got my undercover tonneau today, does anybody else have this lid? Do you have a problem with one of the sides rubbing the box when it opens? My left side just touches the box when I open the lid, no matter how i adjust the lid it always seems to touch the truck. I guess i'll have to get some of the clear tape to put on the sides. I'm sure it's just an adjustment problem, but it looks good all the way around the truck. Any suggestions? I did a lot of research before i spent the money for this lid and i really like it, but I'm sure theres something that i need to do.

Some have actually taken a grinder to the area you are talking about to gain a little clearance. I had an Undercover on my '01 Supercrew and now have one on my '04 Supercrew, neither have created this issue for me. BUT, I spent a lot of time adjusting the front mounts so that both on mine fit as close to perfect as possible. Take a little time with the cover up and you can figure out how to do this.

I read a couple weeks ago that Undercover had a minor issue with rubbing. The corner was not filed off enough from the factory. Someone said they simply filed the corner where it was rubbing until they created enough clearance.

I've never owned an Undercover but I've had other polyethelene items before and they shave/ file very easily. A wood rasp or 'cheese grater' type tool works very easily. I'd recommend being very careful if you use a razor blade for cleaning up the rough strands, it's very easy to pull too hard and then slice your thumb (don't ask me how I know that).

I had a very slight rub on the left side. I used a Dremil tool to grind about an 1/8th of an inch off thus solving the problem.

Thanks, i guess that's what i'll do. After looking at it if i adjust it so the left doesnt rub, then the right side will. Other than that, the only problem i had is in a VERY strong cross wind, i think it rattles somewhere. But it's not enough to concern me. It has to be a really strong wind. Other than that, I really like it so far.

just an update, I got an email from undercover and they said they did have a handful of lids that had to be sanded on the corner. Also the rattling i heard was just a lock adjustment. Now that its perfect, I like it even more.
