Overhead Temperature Indicator is Way Off,

My 2001 Screw Overhead Temperature Indicator has a problem. It isn't reading the temperature correctly. It is 10 to 20 degrees too high.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

Been there

I had the same problem for a while. What I did was go to where the probe is, I believe on the right front of the radiator shroud, and found lots of rust on mine. I clean it and painted it and it was right on. This worked for me, mine is a 2001 as well.

Replace the temp. sensor. Remove the radiator cover, and you'll see a small two-wire sensor on the drivers side in front of the radiator. Read these two threads: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...hreadid=183606

Drive South for about 500 miles and it will be correct!
