Help please

I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus R/T: click here to see it

Its stayin in my garage until spring then im going to put the puppy up for sale and get a F150 SuperCrew. I am a newbie, obviously. But i am a newbie to the truck world too. I hate searching because rarely do i ever find the information i need, so, first of all, if you all dont mind sharing...

How much did you pay for your supercrew f150, when did you buy it, what options does it have, etc?

How much would a stock one go for right now..say a 2000 model. (i already looked up the prices in kellys blue book, but i just want more opinions)

Also, when i get her..i really want to lift it, and throw some big *** tires on there. This is a total newbie question but, how much money would i be looking to spend if i wanted to raise it 9 inches or so? How long do the aftermarket suspension parts last, is the install generally easy like it is for a car (i know the suspension setup is completely different on trucks than cars)

Thanks for all the information ahead of time. I really just want to know if i can afford a supercrew. I have about 14k to spare right now...until i sell all the mods from my stratus.

Thanks again,
Ryan

The first year of the Supercrew was 2001. As for price, just look at the local car lots, want adds etc. That way you will be able to quickly see what they are selling for in your area. You can check out lift kits for 4x4's and 4x2's online at places like 4Wheel parts. Fabtech and RCD probably make the two best lift kits for 4x2's and 4x4's. I'm not sure, but I think both the 6 inch 4x4 Fabtech and 6 inch 4x2 Fabtech lift are around $1200 to $1500. You could add a 3 inch body lift for around $150 for the 9 inches of lift you want. That will clear a pretty serious size tire on either a 4x4 or 4x2. Probably a 37 to 38 inch tire, which means you will have to regear the rear end (and the front if you go with a 4x4) to have any power. All this adds up to a lot of money. The taller you go the more money it costs.
Also, welcome to the site.

Talk about night and day! Hit one too many potholes? In my experience in the past going that high meant alot of headaches, I was always trying to diagnose why something wasn't right.

All this adds up to a lot of money. The taller you go the more money it costs.
...you got that right. I think 33"s are a perfectly modest height, but hey, that's my opinion.

Kick that baby up, spend that cash if you got it, because when it's done right... it's freakin' unbelievable.

Do's:
6"suspension lift
3" body lift
some sort of stabilizer
new gears- 4.10 or 4.56
check local laws for bumper height requirements
check out mickey thompson's baja belted hp's (me likey)
buy a good rim, I had centerlines...no probs
...still gonna have to trim the fenders

good luck!
Scott
