Question Door Ajar warning light...

Today, after loading my daughter and my gear in the truck and heading off to work in single-digit weather, the "Door Ajar" warning would not turn off.....I opened/closed the 4-doors at least 3 times each with no success.

I made one stop for 10 minutes and returned with no change in the warning lights. After the truck sat in the sunlight for 8 hours at work, the warning light was off before the ride home.

A little background info: I washed the truck yesterday in high 30-degree weather and parked it outdoors overnight while the temperatures dropped 20+ degrees.

Any thoughts??

Thanks, in advance, for your help!

Interesting correlation between the wash and the light...

My hunch is that a bit of water froze within the sensor. Do you have a heat source that you could use around the door sensor to see if it'll thaw?

Where is the sensor? ....I'd like to spray the area with Silicone Spary or White Lithium...I'm assuming the heat of the day helped thaw out the door.

Thanks for your input!

This is a known issue with sticky switches. They are in the door latch (the LATCH, not the HINGE). Use WD-40 since it won't leave a residue. Spray the latch and then open and close the door a few times. Repeat as needed (2-3 times a year). Some dealers will try to sell you a replacement latch/ switch and I've heard prices of $150 or more.

Thanks! I'll go out with the big can of WD40 tonight and lube away!

Cheers!
