Question Amplifier Install Locations?

I own a 2001 Scrw and I am using a Probox custom enclosure behind the driver's seat. Does anyone have experience with the best locations to mount small to medium size amp(s)? I do not want to remove the panels from behind the back seat permanently. I wondered if the best location is behind the backseat panels, under the passenger side rear seat, or under the front two seats. The only problem I can forsee on mounting them under the front seats is the vents for the rear exit under them. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah , if anyone has any pictures of their setups that would be great too. Thanks for any help, Charles. Oh yeah I posted this in the audio forum but I have only received one response and the member has captain's chairs. My 01 Screw has the 60/40 split front and rear. Thanks again for any help!

I've got my large amp mounted on the firewall behind the driver's side rear seat. I crafted a bracket out of aluminum to attach to the mounting bolts so I didn't have to drill any new holes.

I have both of my amps behind the rear panel of a 60/40 Rear Bench. No problems with over-heating thus far....I've had them in for 8 months......

I just had an MTX box/sub/amp combo installed about 3 weeks ago. Its a made-to-fit box that fits under the 60-part of the rear bench. It looks completely factory and hits like mad. They have a dual 8" and a single 10" setup and the both come with the amp. I'll try to get some pics up later on. Ran about $600 installed.
Only problem is that it doesnt let that part of the bench fold completely down, goes about 2/3 of the way, more than enough to get to the storage panels but not flat down. It does come out pretty easy (4 bolts) if I absoultely need the cargo room though.

Thumbs up amp location

Nice install I wish I had an 04 Screw! They seem like they have a lot more space under the seats. Mine is an 01 Screw it looks like mine would fit except it would blocck the floor vents. If I elevate the amp with spacers it rubs the seat bar. Ugggh! I guess the best place is behind the rear seats.

I mounted mine under the passenger seat with spacers so as not to block the rear vent. In order to get in to fit, I had to buy a Memphis competition amp that was small compared to other amps with the same power output. I have some pictures in my gallery if you're curious.

Smile amp location

Nice install I am still trying to decide. I originally chose under the rear seat, however I purchased a small capacitor and I have decided to try and mount everything on a board and mount it behind the backm seats. Thanks for the email.
