painting trim

has anyone ever painted the trim above and below the chrome part of the bumper? or even the fender trim? I have an 02 black supercrew with grey trim that id like to paint over, just curious to see if anyone else has already done that, how much, and if youre happy with it. thanks

yep sure can, when I swapped my lower front valance with a HD one, I painted the upper bumper top black to match the truck, and the lower sivler to match my two tone...then I also painted the fender flares to match the two-tone, with a new pinstripe...

what did you use to paint the flares? Did you take them off and paint them?? Any particular kind of paint that you used? I have an all white F-150 and would like to have the shadow gray flare color.

I took them off and had a paint shop do it. My truck is a 2001, and I didn't want to use rattle can paint and end up with different shades of black, in case my truck faded a little bit. so they matched it pretty well.

Can you give me an idea of how much it would cost to just do the flares?

at the time, I had the 4 flares, a hood scoop, bumper top, tailgate handle painted, and the new pinstripe....it was like $300 I want to say, I can't really remember.

If you're painting them all one color it should be easier for them than mine which was two tone. it shouldn't be very much to paint just the 4 flares..

good luck

Thanks a lot, I might have to check that out. I will post pics if I actually decide to get it done.
