Question Plug under seat? '01 Screw

I'm in the process of installaing some more electronics and noticed a plug (with 3 wires) under my front passenger seat. It is attached to the seat bottom and nothing is plugged into it. Anyone know what this is for?

Plug?

Do you have "power seats"? If not, it might be that they installed the wireing, so it would be there if that option was installed. I'm not sure if "heated seats" were options in '01, but that is also a possibility. Good luck!

I'd guess it's something power...

BTW, the 01 KR did have heated seats. I'm sure it's pre-wiring for something that was associated with 'power' something for the seats.

I iz soo smarrt.

RP, You is so smart. That's why I keep coming back here!

retired2001, I have the power drivers' seat, but not the passenger side. No heated seats either.

I'll do some voltage checks and see if it is usable. It may work for powering my 'puter and TV tuner.

Anyone know where it goes (in the fuse panel)? I'll try tracing it tonight and see if I can find out.

Thanks guys!

Is it going from the floor to the seat, or from the seat to nowhere? if it is connected, it could be part of the air bag system or the safety belt system... to tell if there is someone in the seat or not.

I did a little checking on the mystery plug if anyone else is interested. It does appear that it is for heated seats. There is a matching plug under the drivers' seat as well. It is fused from the under-hood fuse panel with a 30A fuse. It's also hot all the time (not switched). It looks like a very handy place to pick up some juice.
