Thumbs up Moog Tie Rods Installed!!

Hey guys - just got my Moog tie rods installed this weekend and I must say they make a big difference in the ride of the truck. Steering is very firm now. No more creaking and popping noises when making slow turns. Well worth the $300 and the peace-of-mind.

Did you replace all the ends, even the ones on steering link and pitman arm ?

You know, I don't even know - just told the shop I wanted the tie rods replaced. I will look at the invoice and see what they did.

Only outer ends were replaced. Shop said inner ones did not look bad from what he remembered.

Wish Ford would send me a letter so I knew exactly what to look for.

The install was still worth it because of the great improvement in ride quality.

I have the inner and outer tie rods sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Can't wait! Moog is the best.

Called dealer back and he said he would cut me deal on the labor and no charge on the alignment if I wanted them to also do the inners.

Guess it would have helped if I knew what I was asking for when they did it the first time!!! I am not at all familiar with the steering components and still have not received my letter yet, so I did not realize there were inner and outer ends. Oh well, that is how you learn about stuff!!

Just a reminder, if you have the Moog Tie-rods, that they need to be re-greased occasionally. I think its recommended to do this every or every other oil change. A little grease gun does the trick just fine .

I bought a "Universal Tie-rod end removal tool" yesterday for $14.99. I haven't bought the Tie-rod ends yet but I will soon enough. I think I'll go with MOOG and do all 4.
