Torsion Bar Lift
Based on what MillerG posted, has anyone loosened the torsion bar? I have heard that this causes the front end to level up with the rear allowing larger tires and a better look. If so, what would on recomened for an 03 crew if the front was leveled?
I think you mean to say "tighten" the torsion bars.. If you loosen them, the front end will drop commensurately and vice-a-versa.
You should plan on an alignment when done. It's really a crap shot as to whether or not you will need it - ask 10 people and 5 needed an alignment, 5 didn't.. I fell into the needed it category..
It's just a good idea to do anyways to get the angles lined back up and maybe have the camber re-shimmed - or is it caster? Hell, I always get 'em confused?
What do mean by "what do you recommend?"
I assume tire size and that is ultimately personal preference and how much power do you need (for instance, towing or not). I have eyes set on BFG AT/KO's in 285's. That seems to be best of both worlds in that it is a larger tire and still maintains the same basic power of the truck.. You can go as large as 305's, but you may need to minor valance trimming..
