I just got a 2004 supercrew with the leather lariat interior. It has the bench seat, the 40-20-40. I never put 3 people in the front seat and would prefer to have some sort of floor console. Has anyone replaced this center section of the seat with a console? Is there an after market replacement that would look good? This has got to be the best truck I have ever owned, however one thing with the screw is the lack of storage in the cab. Jack under one back seat and the boom box woofer under the other.

Not trying to be a smarta$$, but if you "just got" your truck, then you should have "just got" the one with captains chairs and the center console!

Or, did you buy it used - not too many used 04's out there, but thought I would give you the benefit of the doubt...

As for me, I have a 60/40 and I have a Clarion sub that acts as my center console. I don't think that those are available for 04's...

You might need to fiberglass something up...

 

I bought the truck new. I looked at the captains chairs with the center console. I didn't really like the look of the console going all the way to the dash or the shifter there and the truck it was in was not in one of the colors I cared for. I was too impatient to order one. I had a 2001 and drove the 2004 and had to have it then, The truck I drove off the lot is perfect except for the console. The seats in mine appear to be the same as the captains chairs but have that center section for a 3rd person between them.

I had an 1990 F150 that had a console between the captains chairs that didn't extend to the dash. Nice and big could really pack it full of junk that never got used. Like I said it's a great truck, as with everything we do just trying to make it a little different to suit my needs. Maybe the model is still to new for an after market bolt in.

 

If you reach under that middle seat and pull up, you can pull the cushion right out. Underneath is a big metal bracket. It almost looks like it could be compatable with the non-flow through counsel. Like you could pop it right in. Check with a dealer or something

I had my front 60/40 seat cut down and after purchasing the parts on line to support the cut down seat( less than $75.00 for parts) I now have single front seats with a rather nice aftermarket console with plenty of storage,plus a TV/VCR/DVD, with headphones built into the rear of it for the young ones.

Marc, where did you get the console? Do you recall the make?

 

I have had it around for a couple of years. My wife bought it at Sams Club about 3 years ago I believe. It is tan and matches the interior in my truck perfectly. I believe I still have the box that it came in in the basement or the barn. I will look this weekend if I can remember and get the name of the manufacturer, and an address if I can. I am the unfortunate one this weekend and have the Plant Saturday and Sunday.
