SuperCrew tire choice

Have an '01 Screw 4x2, ready to buy new tires. Want to go from 255/75/16 to 265/70/16 or 265/75/16. Anybody done this yet? Any problems? Thinking either the Bridgestone Revos or BFG All Terrain T/A KO's or Michelin Cross Terrain SUV. Input from anyone?

I put the 265/75/16's on my 03. You can fit up to 285/75/16's without any lift other than possibly cranking the torsion bars.

But he has a 4x2, no torsion bars to crank. Check the tire forum, I'll bet there's been an answer to your question there.

I would go with 265/70R16. 265/75 starts to affect performance (acceleration, braking, and fuel economy) and IMHO that size doesn't look right on 2wd F1-50's.

I prefer the Revos over BFG AT KO.

Thanks for the replies. I went through multiple pages on the tire/wheel forum and didn't see anyone trying to go this size on a two wheel drive with the 16" wheels. Saw lots of good things about the Revo's. Local shop wants about $730 out the door for all four. Gonna shop around. Thanks again.

S'crew Tires!

I went with the 265R70X16s on my '02, 2wd. It is only 1.8 to 2 % off on speed/odometer. I went with "Cooper" Dominator Sport ATs, from Discount Tire. No problems after 15,000miles. Good luck!

Another good tire is the Toyo Open Country A/T. Might be a little cheaper than the Revo.

Target price for revos should be $650 or less installed. It seems the prices have gone up a lot since they were first introduced.

I put Nitto Terra Grappler 265 75 16's on my 4x2 01 screw.

I am going to eventually put the daystar Coil spacers on the front to even the truck out, But IMO, it looks like a real Truck now compared to the 255 grabbers.
