radio cut out

I was just driving along in my 2003 screw and the radio stopped working. It totally powered off and would not come back on. I didn't loose any other electrical features (AC display, dash lights, etc). After I pulled over to the side of the road I turned the engine off, checked the fuses -no problems - and started the truck back up. Radio worked fine, but I had lost all my presets. I haven't checked the battery terminals yet - I know that's what you guys are going to tell me to do, but I just tightened tem both up about 4 days ago after changing out my fuel filter. Any ideas? I was listening to a CD at the time this happened, but I don't see why that would make a difference.

I hate to say this, but Ford OEM radios are notorious for being poor quality. Twice the one in my Mom's explorer did the same thing as yours and would not come back on. Both after the warranty expired.

1st time around, I bought a used unit off Ebay. After the second one went out the same way, I went aftermarket.
