K&N FIPK Cost?

hey all, not sure where to post, but here goes. i found the FIPK that i want, got a part number and all...57-2541, it is the Gen II. i searched about 12 links off the K&N site, and the cheapest was $269.49. the standard was $285.29. was wondering if anyone knows a place where to get it online, and cheaper. and also, is that the best for our style truck? thanks screw guys!!willie

I paid something like $215 delivered. I got it brand new from an online auction on Ebay. There are a bunch of dealers there unloading brand new stuff.

There are cheaper places. Truckperformance.com has it for $229 I believe. I also remember several people saying that their local Autozone could get it for a similar price.

so which one is better? K&N or AIRAID? or is it just a preference thing?

Airraid not so good. Air Force One closely followed by K&N FIPK Gen II. AF1 looks a lot nicer with its polished T304 intake tube. Both AF1 & FIPK cost about the same.

I don't mean to discourage you. It isn't a bad kit. It just doesn't seem to get the performance that the other two can get.

Now, this article is quite old because it doesn't even have the Gen II K&N kit. Airaid may have a newer design as well. Comparison.

to all, that are hopefully reading this... got the air raid today. what a mess. fedex came and went since i was at work, so i had to go and wait for an hour with like 50 other people in a shack the size of a roach motel! any, installed it. took abnout 30 40 minutes. hardest thing was getting the breather valve hose off the breather valve. once that came off with some boling water, everything went smooth. got in and it didn't sound any different at start up, but when i stomped it....hoo boy! felt the difference and heard it right away! i am very happy with it. i read in a post search for air raid that some dude said it sounded like he put a aftermarket muffler in but the sound came from the front, not the back! well said!! so in my opinion, it's great. cost..$273.90 with overnight shipping from www.stylinconcepts.com. part number 400-109, that is all! willie
