Keyless Entry Keypad code

I just bought a used 2003 Supercrew w/ 13,000 miles. My truck has the keyless entry keypad below the drivers door handle. The truck did not come with any information pertaining to the keyless entry code. The Ford service department told me that I would have to pay them $70 to have them pull the codes. Is there any other way of finding out the code?

This is a great Forum!

Thank you for your help.

Tim

Assuming the code is not on the little white plastic card in the Owner's Manual, the easient way to find it is to crwal up under the dash and look for the code yourself. You should find the code on a white sticker on a black box mounted under the dash on the firewall over towards the driver's door if I remember correctly.

It's way way up there so take a flashlight and don't give up if you don't see it right away.

I know I have seen the answer posted before so you can always do a search.

While you're at it, find another Ford dealer.

They know where the code is and any dealer that believes in good customer service would be glad to have someone peek and get you the code. Charging $70 for that info is unacceptable.

Thanks for your help! I found the code and it works perfectly.

I believe I will be finding another Ford dealer after one more visit there.....

Thanks Wickman!

P.S. I do not have an owners manual or the plastic care in which you refer.

That code can also be programmed to one of your choice in addition to the factory one. I have the PDF of the 2003 owner's manual at work. If you PM me your e-mail address, I will send it on Monday.

Attn: Aaron (APT)

Aaron,

For some reason I can't Private Message. Maybe it is because I am new to the message board. Anyway I would very much appreciate the PDF file. You can send it to my e-mail below.

The Private Message error said that the administrator had it turned off, how do I get it turned on?

This thread got me wondering, so I went to the Ford place today, and a mechanic in the parking lot looked under my steering column area and gave me the #. Took a total of 1 minute and didn't cost a dime. Gotta love that "Southern Hospitality".

The only code that can be "changed" or added is the better description of it, is the 2nd one.

The number on the RAP / CSM cannot be changed. Hence this is why it is called the perminate code.

Do yourself a favor, and put in one of your own before you give it to anyone else ( if you are doing that ).
Seen 2 posts this year where someone get 'seperated' and needed to change the code. But the problem is they were only using the perminate code, not a user added one.
To change the perminate one, you need to change the RAP / CSM.

I think the RAP / CSM for the EXPY is located in the rear drivers side ( by the rear door ) ?? There was a posting on this about 3 or 4 months ago. I'll try to find it, but do a search for it, you should be able to find it.

Good luck.
