Question Tail lights for Screw

I keep seeing on here people that ordered Flareside/Stepside tail lights for their Screws. But when I go on Ebay most of them say specifically that the Flareside tail lights DON'T fit Screws. So what the hell is up, am I a short bus riding retard or what? What am I missing here?

Jason, the taillights are the same (in terms of fit, not appearance) for a Lightning, Flarside, or Supercrew. I bought Lightning tails for my Screw and they were advertised to fit all the above. Other than having to use shorter screws to fasten them in they installed just like the OEM ones I took off.

Thanx Rogone,
I know that when I have looked on places like Stylinconcepts they say that they fit all three, but they sell their lights for over $200. The ones on Ebay are much less expensive but it seems they all say they will not fit Screws. I guess I can order them and take my chances but I hate to waste $100 if it isn't right.
So the Flareside style is the same as the Stepside, correct? Of is that the Styleside that is the same as the Stepside?

The Flareside is the same bed look as the Screw. The Styleside is the other look. A Flareside has a rubber covered step near the front of the bed and the Styleside does not. The taillights are also different between the Flareside/Screw and the Styleside. I think the Stepside terminology applys to Cheys version of the Flareside though some may use that term for a Flareside Ford.

By the way, both of my brothers live over in your area of LA and my Dad and sister live down south towards San Diego. Sure would like to be there on a day like today when the high is projected to be 9 degrees and we were below 0 last night.

yeah, I can't complain about the weather. It is the end of January and it is almost 70 degrees outside. Then again, a 3 bedroom house of 1200 sq. ft. is half a million dollars, so it isn't ALL good.

Thanks for the info, so I should be safe ordering flareside lights off of Ebay for my Screw then, right? Take care!

QUOTE: A Flareside has a rubber covered step near the front of the bed and the Styleside does not.

I have a 2002 F-150 Super Crew 4x4 and it does not have the small step at the front end of the bed. I have tried to purchase tail lights on ebay and they ALL say they will NOT fit the SuperCrew. It seems like if there was ANYWAY for them to work, the ebay sellers would want to make a sell. I found ONE guy who advertised tail lights for the SuperCrew and the prices were as follows- Here is what he wrote. I passed because of the CRAZY prices!!!

Quality is all I sell. Prices are :
clear $300.58
black $300.58
carbon $312.60
smoke $300.58
plus shipping and handling.

Nobody on ebay sells INPRO/CARWEAR product for one reason....the expensive. There the best quality and nobody else has there design. I can give you a small discount, but thats it. Maybe $20 or $25 less. Its up to you.

What is the site or location. As I mentioned in my last email, there are allot of tail light sellers on Ebay, buy they all claim they will NOT fit the super crew. If it was a simple screw length, I'm sure it would of been figured out. One thing about ebay, is it's often tough getting a refund after making the purchase. I want to be 100% on if they'll work or not. Did you see the crazy prices the one ebayer was asking?

Thanx Rob, I will check out that site (racerwheel.com). Hey, where did you get that Harley grille? I hav seen them on Ebay as well but I am not sure if they are an insert or a replacement grille. I got the Streetscene Speed grille and I really don't like it. It fits like crap and looks pretty bad too. I bought that and a couple of other things from Stylin Concepts and they were all pieces of crap. I don't think I would buy anything from them again, especially since they are WAY OVERPRICED!!

So I just ordered a set of carbon fiber tails and clear corners from racerwheel.com. Pretty cool site and good prices. When they arrive I can put on the new headlights and billet gas cap I have. Now all I need is a set of rims and tires and I will be done. For now at least....

What part number?

Jason, what part number did you order for your Supercrew? I emailed them at that site and asked to make sure. I think you mentioned you ran into the same problem as I on Ebay. They all said the lamps would not fit the supercrew. I also want the carbon fiber. Let me know how they fit and look. Thanks...

Hey Rich, they don't have part numbers only descriptions. They say they will fit '01 and up Screws, Flareside and Stepsides. They were $115 which is a little more than Ebay but at least I know I can return them if they dont fit and they say they WILL FIT Screws.
I will let you know how they fit when I get them, hopefully I can even take a pic but I don't have a digital camera yet.

Thanks..

Please let me know how you like them. Also my .02 on a digital camera. I''ve had 3-4 different ones. Even though it's not the fanciest, but one of the EASIEST camera's I've ever used. Go to ebay and put in D-490. It's made by olympus.. you might have to put in Olympus D-490. You can buy a used one at a great price. If their great, why do people sell them? As I did, thought I needed a camera with more megapixle on more features. I was so dissapointed I sold my D-490. It takes great photo's and it's so simple to use. One bad thing about digital camera's is their zoom. The bext camera I get will have at least 10 x zoom. Anyway, I liked the camera so much, I bought one off ebay for my Mom. Read the auction carefully, but most times you're getting a good working camera. Good Luck!!

I contacted racerwheel via email and sent the guy a photo of my truck. He stated he doesn't think it will fit. I'm SOOOOOOOO freaking confused on these lights. It says supercrew on it. Here are a couple of his replies copied & pasted. Read in order from 1 to 4. If you look at your order, there will be a part number. Check and see if it's the same one you ordered.

(4) From them to me-
No this will not fit your car

(3) From me to them-
Here is a photo that is a little closer.

(2) From them to me-
It looks like it will fit. I just helped a customer put one in a f150. i can't really tell from the sideshot but his truck looks just like yours

(1) From me to them-
Hello, I have a 2002 F-150, SUPER CREW, 4x4. I'm not sure if it's a flareside or not. I've included a photo just to make sure. I was told the flareside it the bed that has the small step up close to the cab. Is this infact a stepside or flareside. I'm looking for carbon fiber rear tail lights. Is your product number RT100072the correct lamp? Please help me so I can place this order.

Thank you,
Rich Lee
