Time To Test ABS In The Snow
It's snowing here in Philly and have been driving the 02 Supercrew around all morning. It does handle pretty well on the snow and ice. I stopped at the icy base of a hilll and just idles right thru the ice and then gentle gas and up the hill. I watched a few few cars and minivans just slip and slide and try to turn around.
I did a few controlled panic stops in the mall parking lot and it resulted in the ABS activating and the truck tracked almost straight. The ABS is much quieter than my older Minivan. I sped up to about 30 mph and applied the brake hard. Overall I am happy with the LS rear as well, executed three fast starts from a stop and traction was very even, just watch out for fish-tails under throttle. I think I will wait to see how it handles in the heavy snow before I add my customary ballast.
Just trying to to learn the trucks limits away from traffic. Enjoy the snow and be safe.
Now to find those Sleds and Inner Tubes for my little ones.

Lost Pup,
Try a 5 to 10 MPH stop (example is slow stop and go traffic) and hit the brake hard. All your tires will lock up and you'll just slide.
The computer thinks you're stopped so the ABS doesn't engage.
I almost had a 5 MPH collision because of this. In fact this is what my face looked like when it happened...
