Question Dogs and Groceries??

Wow - I got great responses to my question about transporting the dogs in the bed of the truck! :bows - thanks!

Now, my next question - I also need to load groceries in the back of the truck. Since I'm going to go with the crate configuration for the dogs (or possibly a cap), what can I use to secure an area for grocery bags. I've seen the bed extender flipped in for that purpose but if I install that, I don't think that the dogs will be able to jump into the bed and over the bed extender rail??

Any Ideas??

dogs and groceries

Bed Extender - my lab hops over it like it wasn't even there.
It works greatflipped forward for holding heavier groceries (sodas, dog food, etc....) I wouldn't out anything light there because of the wind deflection

Not sure what you're doing as far as the dawgs go, but what I use for a "grocery keeper" is a 2" x 4", cut to length and inserted into the two "channels" located about 20" into the bed from the tailgate. It sits about 6" off the floor and keeps my groceries from "traveling."

here is something I made for storage, I can set two large dog crates on top side by side and for grocerys I went and got two wire baskets that were for a chest freezer and set grocerys and odds and ends in them. If your gonna just set them on the actual bed of the truck you might want to secure them to the sides with some small bungies to prevent them from sliding around. Very cheap and easy and you can remove quickly. Hope this helps
