Squeaky brakes on a Screw

I have an 03 Screw with only 13,000 miles and noticed the brakes started squeaking about 500 miles ago, I took a long trip (about 2000 highway miles) and after that is when I noticed it.
The noise comes from low speeds stops usually stop-n-go traffic or in a parking lot less then 25 mph.
I looked at the brakes myself and they don't seem worn and I don't tow a trailer
Has anyone else had brakes go bad this early and if so would a dealer correct the problem under warrenty?

Very odd that you say this WW...

I'm having EXACTLY the same problem... it started tonight after a trip to Wally Hell. 26k miles here...

Bad thing about mine is that I'm supposed to leave on vacation tomorrow at 12... so, I'm taking the truck to Tri-County (Buckner) tomorrow morning at 7am and PRAY that they can pull off a miracle and get it taken care of....

By the way... if you are sharp with brakes, PLEASE read my thread in the BRAKES FORUM and give me some insight. Thank you very much!

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again...

Unhappy Me, too.....

I've been having the same problem, but have not come up with a fix yet. I had the front rotors turned and put on new pads and still had the squeak. Now, about 1000 miles later, the squeak is gone from the left, but still does it on the right. Everything looks good (pads, rotors, etc.) and I have no shimmy, shudder, or pull when applying the brakes. It just sounds like crap every time I have to stop.

Two new calipers (warranty), pads, and rotors turned. My problem, I believe, is solved.

Thumbs up

Glad to hear you got it fixed. So the calipers were the culprit?

I'm having the same thing, but I noticed it after I got my huge wheels. I just ordered some powerslot rotors and new pads, so let's hope that makes it go away. If not, off for new calipers under warranty. Right at 30000 miles for me.

Angry Brakes need replaced??? on an 02

My o2 Supercrew just has 25k miles and they had to replace the brakes, even turn the rotors. I went through this same crap with TWO Windstars a few years ago. This is really ticking my off about Ford and front brakes.

I have over 26K on my 02 SuperCrew and I have had that problem up until about 1500 miles ago. The brakes are still Stock and they just stopped doing it. I guess since it's working right I better check it out because there is probably somthing wrong.

Ditto on the brakes with my 02 with 23+k. Squeaked from about 15 to 20k , had them checked and dealer said they look in good shape, pads, calipers, and rotors. After about 22k squeaking stopped. ??????????????????????????????????

One of the calipers was sticking slightly on the front pass and they replaced both under warranty...

I have a feeling my right front is sticking as well. I'm out of warranty so it's gonna cost me. Any idea what the total bill would have been?

Sorry bud... no idea. My invoice simply says 'WARRANTY' where the price would've been listed.

I love my screw and it is my 4th Ford, but I have to say, they have all had brake issues. Warped rotors, uneven wear, squeeking and "other" wierd noises, even had one that after about 6 dealer brake jobs (at their expense) all within about 20k, the dealer finally determined that the caliper mounting flange was slightly warped from the factory. They replaced that and it fixed most of the problems on that vehicle.
