Question Part Number question

I opened the hood of my truck the other day and found a component on the fascia cover over the rad. It had put a 'C' shaped dent into the plastic. The component is plastic, has 2 vertical posts attached to the bottom of it, one is now broken off. The posts are not used to attach to wherever. The unit is 1 1/2" x 1" and is about 2" if you include the posts (height). There is a plug-in attachment that holds a female opening into the unit and has 3 male pins evenly spaced inside the attachment. It has the following part number on the top: YF1E-9J460-AD followed by another number under it >P8T-GF30< and the words "HI" FORD "REF". On the bottom is the number OM20C with the "HI and REF" again on it.

I have just returned from a 5 week camping and fishing trip and have had not problems with my truck save a fuse blowing in the trailer tow area in the engine fuse panel. The truck runs great.

I am worried that this component could be critical to the running of the truck and could have an impact on its driveability in the future. It almost looks like a finishing cap on the end of a circut, but I really don't know.

I was hoping that one of you experts here on this board could help me out, before I head over to my dealer.

A part # 9J460 is for a DPFE Sensor (EGR Sensor) some one must have replaced it and left the old one under the hood if your truck was missing that sensor the service engine soon light would be on.
