You have to bend a little tab that makes contact with the key cylinder.
You insert a center punch in this hole that is below the cylinder on the column.
Turn the key if necessary, I can't remember exactly it's been a few months. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the cyliunder, but it wasn't hard.
Once the cylinder is out, there is a metal spring tab that contacts the ignition cyclinder. I tried pressing it down like some others have said to do, but that didn't work for me. Others have said to put tape over it or just break it off. What I did was bend it forward, then reinsert the cylinder.
You can leave the key in the igniton while it is in the "Off" position with it not making any noise. The other positioons are controlled by the computer, so they still ding. Not a perfect ding removal procedure, but it worked for what I wanted.
