speed sensitive volume

have any of you guys heard of our SCrews having speed sensitive volume? supposedly if you push down on the volume button 3 seconds, a speed sensitive volume menu will come up; and you then choose your level...supposedly 1-3 being the best level. i tried it on mine, and it didn't work...how about you guys? and if it did work, what radio came with your SCrew?

I set up mine, and it works pretty well. I think I have it set on the medium setting. I still have to turn it up pretty loud when the windows are open, but I do notice a difference when they're closed and I slow down or speed up.

If you have an 03, it has been decontented. My 99 had it with Tape/CD changer. My 03 Dual Media has it on the HU, but it is ineffective.

I've got this in mine. It is an '03 King Ranch with the six disc in-dash player and it works great. I usually have mine on the medium setting too.

Check the owners manual.

Mine has it. Some say theirs don't on later models.

I read somewhere in here that the speed sense wire was deleted from the radio harnesss in the 03.

Here is a link to the thread. Check the last post.

The 03 owner's manual does not mention this feature.

My '02 KR works with the speed sensitive just as it says in the manual.
Don't set it too high or it defeats the purpose - you'll be adjusting the volume down all the time.

My '03 is early model, but don't know if this makes a difference. Funny thing is, i don't remember reading anything about it in the manual. I had it in an Explorer i used to have and liked it, and when I came across it on a thread here, I tried it and it worked. But, one thing that doesn't work on mine, that pisses me off, is the dics shuffle feature. I can play random tracks on a single CD, but not random from one CD to another. My wifes '02 Escape has this feature and it is sweet. I went to my dealer right after bought the truck and we tried one in another truck he had and it wouldn't do it either. They must have changed something from '02 to '03 in the radios. Funny thing with this too, it says in the manual I should be able to do this with my radio. Who knows?

Just set it up on my '03 KR and works like a charm even with my iPod! Thanks for the tip. I missed that bit in the manual as well.
My HU has the 6-disc in dash and will not shuffle from disc to disc which is a bummer.
That's why I went to the iPod.
