I have a 2003 F150 Supercrew Lariat 4x4. I just ordered a 2004 F150 Supercrew Lariat 4x4 because Ford purchased my 2003 back because of some problems with the paint. The new truck is Aspen Green Metallic (no 2 tone) with tan leather.

I wouldn't count your chickens on any delivery date at this point.

The ordering computer will generate a delivery date as that's what it's programmed to do however; at this point, they aren't releasing any of them so they can make sure that quality is where it needs to be...

Don't look for it until late August AT THE ABSOLUTE EARLIEST.

The sales Mgr said mid Sept. Ford is letting me keep my 03 untill my 04 comes in free of charge, because of the problems with the paint. I sill need to make payments on my loan but they will get applied to the new truck when I get it.

 

What was wrong with your paint?

 

The roof had to many mills of paint in some spots & less in others which made it look dented. The only fix is to strip and repaint the cab. Sorry but no way not on a new truck. So Ford bought the truck back from me and I had to pick another 03 or order an 04 for the same MSRP or greater and pay the diff.

 

I hope this is not the same, but the rails in the roof of my 2003 has sand under the paint. It makes me mad every time I wax it!!!! Is this similar to yours. Can it be fixed?

 

hopfully the 04's will be coming out real soon, theyve got to be, here at the kansas city Ford plant their getting crowded outside with 04 F150's and i constantly see them Driving down 435.....

 

Saw an article in todays paper. They say 2004's are on the way to dealers.

 

My region Field Engineer's 04 "test" truck is being built this week, delivered to him next week. According to him the engineers will be driving them for 4 weeks then report any if not all findings to FOMOCO. Then Ford will decide on release dates. Seeing as how I work for a dealer, dealers will tell you they expect delivery on a certain day, they are ready for you to put cash down to hold the vehicles....Also my engineer told me a local dealer hard a 04 that was down in the shop and the techs cant figure it out.....I held off on buying and 04 after seeing what kind of problems Ford had with the redesigned vehicles/engines in 03......
