I am looking to buy a used supercrew. Can anyone tell me the difference in the 01 and 02 models? I am looking at a Lariat 4X4 model.

Also, anyone have one for sale

There are three generations of the 2001 model.

The gen III is very close to the 2002 model.

The headrests and consoles are two difference within the 2001 that I can think of, off hand.

 

One dead giveaway is the rear window seal (unless it's been replaced under warranty).

The 01 will feature a rubber seal type that will sometimes be loose and cause a slight gap between the rear window trim and the top of the truck (metal). The 02 has more of a gasket around the rear window trim.

There aren't a bunch of differences but, that's one of the easiest to tell from the outside.

I guess I have the generation II 2001. I have the arizona beige/blue that was available mid year, but I have the older style captions chairs. They changed in late '01 to the current style seats. I had to look hard to find that combination. I found the older captions chairs to be alot more comfortable, but I guess that's just my opinion. Check them out and campare. Looking for a '04 soon so mine's for sale but its 2WD. Sorry.
