Bedrug regrets???
Bedrug regrets???
Does anyone out there in SuperCrew land have any regrets buying their bedrug???
I have been wanting to get one...
Me and wife are planning to move soon, so I know I want to hurry up and get something in the bed of the 'Screw to prevent any serious scratching.
What are your opinions? How is it with spills? Oil/grease? Water? (I don't have tonneau yet either)
Thanks
Dan
PS - Did most of you install yourselves, or did you go to dealer?

I had one in my Lightning for two years and loved it. It's easy to clean, resistant to about any chemical, and takes about an hour to install yourself. I just ordered one for my Supercrew yesterday. Get it, you will not be dissapointed.
I love mine. I had it for awhile before I got the tonneau and didn't have any problems (water). I mainly use the bed for hauling yard trash (tree limbs and such) so I can't vouch for how it works with oil and other chemicals. The kids love to play back there too. I'm sure it will also come in handy when football season finally rolls around and we start tailgateing again.
It was very easy to install. 30-45 minutes I think.

I have one regret. Waiting almost two years after buying my truck to buy one and install it. It is awesome!!!! No spills in it yet. I used extra industrial velcro on the tailgate to make it a real snugg fit. The removing of the tie downs was the hardest part, and that wasn't hard. Mine required a torx wrench. Put the screws back in after you remove the tie downs, install the bedrug then push against the screws and cut slits for the screw heads to pop through, it will make a perfect fit. It took me about 2 hours, reading directions included (I read slow).

I've had mine in for about 2yrs now with no cover. Starting to get a little green funk growing in the corners. Otherwise it's great.
Regrets?
- Hauling bark dust. Wow - took a carpet shampooer to get it clean again.
- Paying to have it installed. Payed an extra $45 for installation to find out they cut slits in the sides for the tie downs. I made them redo it as described above. I also had to get more velcro for the tail gate. Three strips were not enough. Got five now and doing good.
Otherwise it's worked out great. Pretty tough - last weekend threw 50lb chunks of concrete in the back. No problems.

The only thing I have hauled so far in mine is a pair of bikes. The bedrug got some depressions in it from the bike pedals but they popped out after a few minutes of taking the bikes out.
Like sooo_alive said, not removiing the tie downs and cutting slits in the bedrug is just a lazy way too install it, It takes an extra 20 minutes to do the job right.
It is a very easy do-it-yourself project that will give you great satisifaction of a job well done.

bEDRUG ISSUES
I haul a bicycle around in mine, and where the rear tire contacts the bedrug floor it has formed a depression that will not go away. I think the backing material has flowed away from under the pressure point.
So now I have my original rubbermaid mat laying in the bedrug to protect the floor of it.
So I'd say I was disappointed because of this issue.
Also have had tailgate velcro break loose, replaced it.
Installation wasn't a problem.

I like the bedrug better than line-x. I've had both and the bedrub is more versitly. I've carried oil, trash, wood, concrete, no problems. It's soft on the knees when your in the back of your truck, and my kid and dogs love it to.

Love mine too,
However, the depressions mentioned above are a small issue. My bed extender has made what appear to be permanent dents.
I love the way it smooths out the ridges, cleans, great for hauling anything from furniture (try that on a spray in without pads) to firewood, to sand and pea gravel.

I love mine, the only regret is that it is harder to get pine needles out of the back. Also after a while you need to replace the double stick tape in a few areas and it's no big deal with 1 trip to home depot.
If you decide to get one make sure they screw the tow hooks though the rug and punch holes for the tailgate extender points.
