you mean Speedometer? Your odometer dosen't clock the MPH.

Yeah, the odometer measures distance. The speedometer measures, well... speed.

Now that we established it's the speedometer not working, has your odomter logged any miles?

Well depends on if the cluster went bad or if it is a HEC problem, and if they have the parts in stock.

Did you try the HEC speedo to see if that is registering anything ?
http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/News/99hec.htm

Once you enter the test mode, the first test is a gauge sweep test. That will show if the speedo is connected to the HEC as a starter.

Start the engine next I think is the step to get the motor running while in test mode, and then when you get to the selection of m that is the speed in kph rather then mph. If you drive the truck and get a reading here, is it most likely the cluster needs replacing, and should be a short job if they have it in stock.

If the HEC does not read a speed while driving at selection m, then you have another problem all together.

Good luck

Steve

the odometer works fine, ive actually put on about 2100 miles in a month so thats fine, but my speedometer sticks until i hit 10mph then it jumps up to the right spot....im hoping they can get it done quickly since im a freak when it comes to having my truck at all times

When new

Mine had a problem where the speedo would go nuts for short periods, they ordered a new instrument cluster and it took about 3 hrs to install, no more problem, they also had to give me new keys as they apparently had to reset the chip somehow??
